We needed an extra prop before we even started the season and then let Klemmer and Johannsen go. It’s a huge oversight by Rico and Benji imo, considering they had recruited well overall in the off season. I just don’t get why they didn’t try harder. The engine room is what wins games. Now Pole is out we’re looking very vulnerable.

Exactly . But that’s not what this whole “Seyfarth fan club “ post was about . It was the same guy, who drove a lot of the “Brooks fan club / cult” narrative around here .
The guy simply can’t accept that other people have different value systems around players.
And to have a nuanced, pragmatic opinion like , he’s doing a job , but hopefully we find better , is blasphemy.
It’s frustrating as that whole polarising ,right/wong , black/white , discussion styles only purpose is to prop up / validate the people who are speaking like this . Finding common ground , or even just accepting that someone has a different opinion , arnt even remotely apart of the equation.!
By the way if you think this type of way of viewing life is a good idea … good luck , you’re in for perpetual misery , because the world will never ever be the way you want it .

It kinda made sense when there was rumours about Blake Lawrie but he never came. Fingers crossed we pull out a win today, get a rest with the bye and add a player who can help in that time.

Despite making us look silly earlier in the season, he is slowing down noticeably and I don’t think he would be a good fit for us at this late stage of his career.
Give Latu Fainu the first opportunity at partnering Luai in the halves, but we must sign a quality back up genuine halfback such as Tanbah Boyd or Jake Arthur as insurance in case a Fainu/Luai halves partnership doesn’t work and also in case Fainu continues to be injury prone.
I know we have the dilemma of also having Bud Sullivan on our books and he will likely play great against us today, but he’s clearly a running 5/8 not a halfback, we need a genuine controlling 7 with a good kicking game as a back up to call on for our NRL team if things don’t go to plan.
Kurt Falls is 10 levels below players such as Tannah Boyd and Jake Arthur.

Yep. It's not rocket science but we never seem to be able to keep up with the equations.

If you want a back up half what about bringing T Martin home has experience would be a cheap option
 
If we are targeting a halfback I would go in on Matcalf. He plays right side well and roves at times also. He has speed to burn and puts effort in defensively as well. Had a bad run injury wise but there is one heck of a footy player there.

Metcalfe is now a million dollar per season player, I’m talking about the option of giving Latu Fainu first opportunity as Luai’s halves partner, but also signing a good quality back up halfback who would only cost us around 250-300k as an insurance policy type of player.
Someone mentioned TeMaire Martin and he would be very handy in this type of role, however he is a bit more high profile than the other 2 I have mentioned, so would possibly cost more than the 250-300k I am suggesting.
