Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I love your work, but weve got one foot in the grave for '25,

Its Benjis job to get the players pumping.

Theyve been getting worse.

He keeps selecting under performers and i defer to @Vicious about our lack of game management and enthusiasm.

Im not angry about it,im not blaming benji, hes trying but hes looking more incompetent as the season unfolds.

Hey im used to it.
You are right, we have got a foot in the grave. We have identified the symptoms but not the cause. Identify and address the root cause and I think we can pull the foot out of the grave. If we do identify the cause and choose not to act for cap or HR reasons that is a management issue, if we don't identify the why that is a coaching problem and we can't afford to let that fester.

Jolls that sounded exactly like an Adam O’Brien or Des Hasler post match press conference.

Not the craw, the claw!!
What was that episode of Get Smart?
Someone here will know.

Mysterious head of the Oriental Arm of KAOS.

He has several henchmen employed under him, but his most trusted assistant is Bobo, who performs torture for him.

The Claw is first encountered when he kidnaps Princess Ingrid of Scandinavia during her visit to Washington [Episode #2: "Diplomat's Daughter"]. He is later seen running a chain of Chinese laundries as a front for his information smuggling agency [Episode #25: "The Amazing Harry Hoo:].

I'm not ready to hang this entirely on Benji, yet. Start of the season if we got to round 10 with a 50% win ratio most on here were saying that he had demonstrated enough to keep him on. He has achieved that yet after one belting and a close loss we are calling for his head. I don't think he has lost us those games - I think the answer lies within the playing group and I trust that the week's break and internal review uncovers the issue and, even if it is bloody and messy, it is thrashed out behind closed doors.

You don't uncoach line speed, you don't uncoach scramble defence, you don't uncoach solid goal line defensive structures and you don't all of a sudden develop a soft middle behind the ruck if you haven't had it for the previous two months.

Lets put some of it down the opposition working us out, but that doesn't account for the effort areas dropping off the cliff, fundamental defensive play disappearing or lethargic plays (looking very much at AD and Naden). This is within the playing group - disharmony, too tired? If Benji can coach he will identify the problem and get us back on track. If he can't figure it out we are in for a hard slog; but for mine I am leaning towards the Galvin situation affecting the mindset of the playing group. The first place player unrest shows up is in defence - this is an attitude issue that needs to be resolved - find the cancer and cut it out otherwise the season is over.
I dunno Jolls, I think the defence is still okay when Skelton and T'oa are in the side. It's the attack that's the issue. We have such little possession and do very little with it when we do have it, the energy just goes. A few repeat sets would make an enormous difference. We're playing tired all the time.

We might need to get Alex Twal practicing his short kicking game as Luai clearly doesn’t want to kick the ball when in an attacking position on the 5th tackle.

Get rid of Galvin, team cohesion restored. Problem solved.

They're both Midgets
- I'd be shocked if they go on to have 100+ NRL Game careers,
Or even get a run outside of the WT's
That's my point with Kit. A ball of muscle, runs hard etc but built to close to the ground. Off loads?
Can't imagine Bellamy or Robinson persisting for 3 years with their fingers crossed. We need to be more ruthless and much better at spotting talented-prospects than we have been.

You do know persisting For 3 years with their fingers crossed is exactly what Melbourne done with Jack Howarth only difference is he was on 500k a year

I haven’t been his biggest fan but defensively he has been very good. This years stats wise he is up the top of the 1-1 tackles made v misses.

Maybe center is his spot after all (suggested that for years).

Do I think he is SOO rep quality heck no but he has clearly worked hard so good on him.
You ain’t the only one been saying his spot is centre if he has a go in D. But origin call up is crazy, on ya Loz. 🤪

But if he gets on the field I will be cheering for our turnstile to kill it.
