@tigerap Unfortunately when fans speak up about this it is classed as whinging and your club needs to fix there own backyard.. JOKE .. I been saying this for a long time now and the TPA need to go or be capped and the NRL should be the ones paying the players. We are the clubs that develops the players and when they become stars the big clubs pop up and show them how good it is winning premierships and getting brown paper bags, Free rent, free memberships to top sports clubs like Golf etc.. even after you stop playing they are looked after.. And to top it off when we offer a legend of the club an after playing career job we get punished and suffer on our salary cap - A punishment higher than clubs that actually cheat on the cap and try and hide it from the NRL..... E.g. Eels ..
Sorry Rant over but when your club has one of the best crowds, memberships numbers in Sydney but have not made the finals sense 2010 it is hard to swallow..

The problem is simple ....the people is high places come and go when they please

The only time they end up leaving is when someone else in the club upends their dinghy

Make them sign contracts based on paying back whatever money they have STOLEN if the club doesn't make the Top 8 in a 3 year period ....

I'm so sick of hearing people at this club say how much they love the club .......and then gouge it until it is empty

Tell me what Bazza has done so far .....what he has changed ......all I see he stood front and centre when Benji got his 300 th Haka and present ....after HIS players from HIS club showed up with lettuce leaf performance

As far as shaping the roster over the next season or two, I’d be going hard for Papenhuyzen, his speed and acceleration is just the tonic for mine in beginning to address the Tigers lack of speed - he’d be a weapon across the park at fullback and would change the team dynamic in attack for the better. He’s on peanuts and off contract end of 2020 at the Storm and is currently behind Hughes who is also in need of a contract upgrade. Bellyache is trying to include him in the top 17 but he’s been playing him in the middle-third at the back end of games, which is a waste of his talents. He looks ready to become a regular NRL fullback and the Tigers are in need of a long term solution in that position.

Nice idea but do you really think he would want to take a backward step and come back here? Usually when young guys leave their junior club early, they make their mark elsewhere and rarely ever return.

@tigerbenji Mate have been banging on about a point system for years, it’s the only way to get something that resembles a level playing field.

The salary cap and Tpa system actually hinders the clubs it was designed to help. As most of teams out of the top 6 have to pay way more for their 30 man squad, or should I say get less bang for their buck because they have to pay overs.

Anyway it will not happen till one of the elite teams crash and burn and find themselves in the cellar for a while, but that is highly unlikely to happen

The argument that teams need try and reach the top rather than bring the top down to there level is a load of dung, simply because it is not a level playing field

That’s the rant on the cap for another year

This club needs to do a JAC on Melbourne with Pappy, they need to be putting feelers out to his manager now.

Grovel to the kid like a dumb ex-boyfriend if they have to. I understand the reasons as to why he left, but the circumstances have changed for us and if Hughes is a first choice fullback for Melbourne then he is in the same position there as he was here with Teddy. Offer him a decent contract, he knows he would dance into the #1 here and would play 80 every game. Thompson has been very handy for us, but we need to start stacking the backs up to the point where he should become a depth player by the end of his contract.

How you determine the points loading though?

Buggered if he can remember where he got it from though...

He might if he's in the same position at Melbourne as he was at Wests i.e. stuck behind another young player with a whole career in front of him.

He would be our first choice fullback.

I'd prefer Manu as first target for fullback if we're talking 2021. Less of a risk in that he's got a much more established line of form as a quality player. I think Papenhuyzen will work out but there's still a fair chance he goes the way of the Dufty...

Please don't forget @TigerSJ, the Dogs haven't been going through the turmoil Our Wests Tigers have been and still are due to that horrible person [that's what my wife calls him anyway] Michelle Moses and Farahgate. Therefore they have been able to concentrate their thoughts [and did it very well] into getting rid of players they couldn't see taking their team into the future :relaxed:

Manu will want top dollar.

Maybe. It would depend who else was on the market that year. Remembering, that at the end of 2021 will be the next proper "rebuild" of the tigers, after the last rebuild of 2018.

So with that, for the first time in 5 years, we will have proper $$$ to spend. We have had two proper rebuilds of the club where we have seen an entire roster go off contract, one in 2003, one in 2017. One coach got it completely right, signing alot of potential, with only 1-2 big contracts, the other got it completely wrong.
