Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don’t think it would be that brazen. I think it’s a little unfair that he’s being tarred with the same brush as Galvin. The circumstances are completely different. If he sees his path here blocked, and another club is offering him a starting role, why wouldn’t he take it?
Surly TDS can see that api isn’t going to play till he is 40 he’s already getting on. And as soon as api isn’t up to it’s it’s TDSes position these kids just need to be patient its for there own benefit. I’m huge fan of TDS I’d be devastated to see him go to another club.

We might get 1 or 2 seasons out of Api but 3-5 plus from Tallyn.

Hes risen up through the junior ranks and has been able to respond to Benji in the broad ( as galvin did).

Hes a good mate of Galvo but thaf hasnt dettered him from staying loyal.

Ive been an admirer of Apis for a long time, a genuis footballer, a leader and a bit of a hero for leaving the panthers to help start our resurgence.

My only proviso of wanting to keep TDS over Api in a fight to the death is that the deal is fair. He needs a proper drink.

Where i might pull up short is where he wants a guarantee of a starting possie.

It was said by the wise here that no player is entitled to that privilige. I dont care who or how good they are.

Richo gets paid a lot of money to make difficult calls like this … and unlike anyone here, he has the full picture around all the factors including how well the next guy Haywood is looking and how many years he might be away ( I would suggest still a few as he is only 18) …

I hope Richo makes the final call as Benji looks a little bit too close to Api…

What do we do here then?

Keep Galvin and just play him at Reggie's, have all of Moses players pissed off at us leading to a total season derailment and spoon 4?

We got rid of the troublemaker! That's what we did. Galvin GONE!

Look it's how life works. Once a relationship becomes irrepairable you only have 2 choices:
1. move on.
2. Gross and pathetic life sized mannequins, while living in denial.

Moving on is the right decision. The lesson learned is not to hire Moses players and to never develop off his talent.
I considered it carefully and felt we had an ethical duty to the players to remove him.

I appreciate theres a sense of injustice occasioned to us members and fans.

But by granting the players their wish, we are supporting them

And i hope they internalise that and realuse we have their backs, potentially driving subconscious effort and desire.

Id rathef have our boys 10% up in performance than a good game but another loss thanks to Galvo.

He may never live up to his potential anyway, nobody knows.

Maybe those rumours of him defecting to rugby are true?
He doesnt look like he gives a stuff.

I think it's the other way around
Usually he looks like it's just another day on the job.
- He looks drained now...
I think he's finally growing up...

He's close to 30 now than 20 - Realising he's made a shit tin,
But he's one of the best players in the comp and hasn't come close to being in one of the best teams.
Maybe the whispers of the Roosters are true?

Imagine him in that side atm, with what they've got coming through...

Yeah, Benji is a bit too close to players.
Hes very cool with them. Sometimes i think they need a parent more than they need a friend.

It’s karma for Ponga as far as I’m concerned. He’s always been on the nose for me ever since he totally shat on Nathan Brown after Brown was sacked.
Browny should have slapped his face.

Several reasons:

- The pathway to starting is clear for him. If it is blocked, it's only temporary.

- The value of the contracts are unknown yet, meaning, he could stand to lose nothing financially by staying provided the club is fair offer-wise.

- WT being his junior club doesn't matter to some these days, but it appears to be some Tallyn has openly expressed is important to him.

- He is learning off the most credentialed hooker currently playing. There is no better mentor currently.

Just for starters.

No new information from our club.

But please, dont believe the media beat up around Galvin taking less money from us

Our contract was a proposal of a package, it was a 5 year 6 million dollar agreement that factored in 3rd party payments, it was never ever going to take up 1.1 million in salary cap every year.

Galvin has taken 750k for this year at the dogs which goes up 25% over the the length of the deal

throw in the third party payments from laundy hotels.

he is earning more than he would have received at the tigers.

I’m sure TDS knows more about points 1 and 2 than you or I or anyone else here … and no doubt he will make the decision he thinks is in his best interests. Given Richo’s direct quotes in the article I posted earlier, he is of the belief that he will choose to move on to fulfill an immediate starting role in 2027..

There will be a club or two who will offer TDS a starting role and probably more money, so I guess it will be a very hard task to convince him to stay. I have no doubts he has the ability to be a quality NRL player, but I think API has the job as long as he wants it.
It would be nice to see the Eels setting themselves up as aunt sally when TDS heads elsewhere.
