Only take Tupou as a last resort G, if the intended targets fall through. He might be 5th/6th or 7th at a club like the Storm. Here he’d be in contention for a spot after one injury.

That would make him the 5th outside back....He might be 5th/6th or 7th at a club like the Storm. Here he’d be in contention for a spot after one injury.
We need at least one centre from outside the club who can bring experience & effort.Only take Tupou as a last resort G, if the intended targets fall through.
I don't believe this at all. Laundy isn't allowed to offer 3rd party payments. Do I think every club, including the Dogs in this very deal breach the cap in some way? Probably. But I also think it is entirely reasonable for someone to take a pay cut to get out of a work environment in which they are not happy. And at 750k a season he isn't going to be struggling financially doing so.No new information from our club.
But please, dont believe the media beat up around Galvin taking less money from us
Our contract was a proposal of a package, it was a 5 year 6 million dollar agreement that factored in 3rd party payments, it was never ever going to take up 1.1 million in salary cap every year.
Galvin has taken 750k for this year at the dogs which goes up 25% over the the length of the deal
throw in the third party payments from laundy hotels.
he is earning more than he would have received at the tigers.
Kini's new deal with the Gold Coast sounds like its more than 1million a season.
"Kini’s new mega deal will see him join the likes of elite NRL stars Reece Walsh, Kalyn Ponga, Nathan Cleary, Daly Cherry-Evans and Titans teammate Tino Fa’asuamaleaui."
That would mean Kini, Tino and Fifita are all on more than 1million a season, with Brimson and Campbell also on big money. Surely that means Fifita is headed elsewhere?
I admire your enthusiasm mate, we have seen Luke show us he can go on with it if injury free.We need at least one centre from outside the club who can bring experience & effort.
Hopefully by the end of this season we'll be praising our outside back youth depth if the likes of Laulilii, Makasini, Tino Tavana & Max Taotua get a clean run without injury and chance to impress in Cup. Tavana & Taotua are very promising as 21 & 20yo and could jump out of the ground at any time.
It is good to have differing views. Those of us who support his return have indicated it would have to be at a favourable rate (old mate's rates)😁Tupou ... no no no no no (to use a Gus phrase).
Has too many errors, lack of effort (this is a big no) & body language is passive (we have tooo many of these types). Personally an older Isaac Tui'tupou on a train & trial is just as good. We'd need to pay somewhere close to $400k for Tupou, no bloody way.
Gagai for a season whilst Makasini & Laulilii develop isn't the worse option. Just don't think he'd come here for one season.
Robbie or Justin did. In an interview, something about coming back to a job at the Tigers after Rabbits contract.Remind me of that one ..someone blabbed didn’t they?
Can rejoin original Scissor hands Kepoa in cup.Scissor hands
I wouldn't take him if the Phins paid us lolIt is good to have differing views. Those of us who support his return have indicated it would have to be at a favourable rate (old mate's rates)😁
I know the feeling but I see some special traits in Tavana & Taotua that suggest NRL potential, they just got to stay injury free & have that inner determination to progress.I admire your enthusiasm mate, we have seen Luke show us he can go on with it if injury free.
As for the rest I will reserve judgement till I get a look at them in 1st grade, too many times I had my hopes up about anything Wests Tigers only to be disappointed.
Well according to my plan, we would have won the series, so we may as well share the origin love.Lol, just because Cleary had an off night you don't bring in a sub par centre because he is handy off the tee. Particularly when Mitchell, Crichton and Lomax are all decent goal kickers.
I don't see where he could possibly start? Maybe cowboys or Souths? As opposed to a starting gig. I know what will be valued more.
Wait, so when Richo mentioned on the pod that the 1mil deal for LG was comprised from deals with multiple parties (never mentioned the word 3rd party). My understand too - 3rd party deals must be arms length…..but then again since when do NRL abide by their own rules
Maybe a certain club with been tangled up with lately that has just told their grub of a hooker to piss up a rope.I don't see where he could possibly start? Maybe cowboys or Souths?
These third-party deals are a murky area of the game, the NRL should've made this more transparent decades ago.Wait, so when Richo mentioned on the pod that the 1mil deal for LG was comprised from deals with multiple parties (never mentioned the word 3rd party).
Is that legal?
If it is to be arranged at arms length; is it the manager that’s supposed to get the 3rd party deal to bump up the contract for his client.
The reason I ask is because Richo would of put that deal together without any of the managers input.
I’m still unclear as to how and when a 3rd party deal gets included into a complete deal for a player.
