Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Thanks. I interpret that as he confirms were looking not that someone had been signed that he was set to announce.
The quote we will make announcements...about players we've signed or otherwise. The 'or otherwise' part to me suggests there were no confirmed signings, but good to know he is looking.
I'm not as confident that someone of need will become available as he is but I do think he is a very good administrator and happy to give him time to affect change.
Im not suggesting someones been signed either and were keeping it quiet

He did say we'll ''make announcements in 2 or 3 weeks"

I know things can change but that sounded like something definite

He’s 35 end of next year. He should leave with everyone’s blessing if it’s his choice. Would have done the hard yards for the Tigers. Big call for the Tigers. Ricky made a similar call with their halfback.

You’re missing the point.
I have zero issues if he leaves and gets paid - he deserves it. It’s his comment and timing of it I have an issue with.

Gagai would be great signing..
2years @ 400k .. 2nd year a club option if his 30+ body fails ..
Qld and Aust rep..
300+ first grade games
Looks fit and always plays tough..
Couldn't think of a better signing not only for our centres/ outside backs but the club as a whole would benefit.
These are the veteran signings we need to teach our young squad what a first grader is all about..
LOCK HIM IN !!!!
Long Bay, Grafton, Goulburn? It is a NO for me and he has had his day in the sun.

I hope Richo is onto Kamikamica. Ideal bench middle for us to stiffen us up! Fijian connection too. We'd have the $$$ to outbid any club for him if we wanted surely.

And hate how News Corp push the story of one News Corp club helping another News Corp club. Disgrace!

Melbourne Storm powerhouse Tui Kamikamica offered to Brisbane Broncos

The Brisbane Broncos engine room needs more power, and help may be near at hand thanks to the Melbourne Storm’s strained salary-cap.

Tui Kamikamica has been shopped to the Broncos as the Storm battle salary-cap pressures to keep the hulking grand-final prop in Melbourne.

Sport Confidential can reveal the Storm are facing a fight to retain Kamikamica with the Broncos emerging as a possible home for the Fijian Test star.

Kamikamica is off-contract at season’s end, although Melbourne have a 12-month option in their favour which they can activate to keep the monstrous 110kg enforcer at the Storm for 2026.

The Storm, however, are juggling salary-cap constraints and may have to reluctantly release Kamikamica, who was Melbourne’s No. 1 prop in last year’s grand final against Penrith.

That has opened the door for the Broncos, who have been offered the services of the chiselled 21-Test Fijian veteran.

Tui Kamikamica is lean and ripped.

It’s understood Souths coach Wayne Bennett was keen to sign Kamikamica six weeks ago, but the Rabbitohs were unable to pull off the transfer due to their bulging salary cap.

Kamikamica turned 31 last month and his agent Jeff Jurotte, who also manages Broncos ironman Pat Carrigan, said the Fijian skipper is more than capable of playing another two or three years of NRL.

“Tui is in great shape,” Jurotte said.

“He could play more minutes but the Storm have four front-rowers.

“Tui is fit as a fiddle. He has an offload, he’s the reigning captain of Fiji and he’s a great professional.

“Tui is keen to play on for another few years.

“He is still enjoying the game.

“If you look at him without a shirt on, he is in unbelievable shape.

“He doesn’t drink and he has a young family, he just wants to secure his future in the NRL.”

The Storm are crunching the numbers in the hope of retaining Kamikamica, but if he has to move on, the Broncos could be one potential destination.

Brisbane need to bolster their front-row stocks. Veteran prop Martin Taupau parted ways with the Broncos a fortnight ago over a social-media drama, prompting coach Michael Maguire to promote rookie prop Ben Te Kura for Saturday night’s clash against the Titans.

Queensland Origin lock Carrigan started the 2025 premiership in the front row alongside Payne Haas, but has returned to the No. 13 jumper for the Gold Coast derby.

Another Sydney club is also eyeing off Kamikamica, but they can only afford to table a one-year contract.

Kamikamica has proved an outstanding clubman for the Storm since his NRL debut in 2017. He has amassed 123 first-grade games across nine seasons and has been a fixture in Melbourne’s middle-forward rotation since 2021.

The Broncos are doing their due diligence on Kamikamica, who could be a handy ally for Haas and Carrigan with his size, muscle, experience and work ethic coming from the famed Storm system.
Ha! Get ya shirt off Roycey. Show him what a real prop's body looks like!!

Any suggestions?
He's already been spoken about enough but KPP and David Fifita are the best forwards able to be signed tomorrow.
There's a few more a bit cheaper that I think is better than we have but not going to really change our fortunes such as Billy Burns, Lazarus Vaalepu, Josh Kerr.
Players available Nov 1st we should making plans to target: Zac Hosking, Harry Hayes, the Puru brothers, Conelley Lemuelu, Phil Sami, Thomas Cant, Kaiden Lahrs, Charlie Guymer, Liam Henry, Lachie Hubner, Fletcher Meyers, Naf Whyte, Siua Wong
The biggest name available Nov 1st, but I don't see how you convince him to join, is Kaloamatangi.
No idea about what players are signed long term whom might be unhappy at their current club.
I think to really turn the club around we don't just need at least 2 quality experienced forwards but probably another 2 or 3 up and comer that you probably need to pay overs for (for where they are in their careers). At the start of the year I suggested Dylan Egan and Blake Steep. I think they would have felt they should have been playing first grade last year. I haven't watched much ressies this year to identify that type of player who is yet to get their crack this year.

Especially when he plays. Or is fit 2 play.
I’m highly confident that by the start of 2026 we will have two very good running 5/8’s in Lstu Faiinu and Heath Mason should we’re-sign him.
I’m more worried that Jerome has the game to really take control of our team as a 7 and regularly demonstrate a kicking game good enough to put us in positions to win more than 50% of our games.
Then from 2027, hopefully we let an ageing Api head to the Perth Bears and aim at having Talyn as our starting 9 with Heath Mason as our regular 14.

Yeah it does sound definite until you add or otherwise at the end of the sentence.

What do you identify with? Let's start from there. Good point.
