I can envisage Doueihi being in demand.

On minimum wage as a 29-30 roster spot clubs would be happy to have an experienced backup.
That's about it for him.
It's an indictment in our roster that he's still getting game time

I’ve been scouring NRL club rosters, off contract players, NSW Cup & QLD Cup to see who are the realistic options as a backup halfback for us could be.

This is based on no Reynolds, no Bud with Luai & Latu 1st choice halves & Mason back-up 5/8.

I’ve narrowed it down to 2 - Jonah Glover & Jock Madden, both goal kickers too. Yes Jock lol but he’s managed by Orr who we don’t seem to rate highly with but Jock may not have many options.

We’ve invested a bit in the development of Max Liles & he could land himself a NSW Cup contract but he’s not at the level of the above 2.

we were right in the to get corey horsburgh... so if that fell our way, our pack would have been quite strong..

I think our recruitment is more strategic at the moment as opposed to buying for the sake of buying.

Makasini will go one of two ways.

1) Not go on to meet the expectations
2) Meets or even surpasses expectations and gets poached

So while it may be exciting right now, ya know it won’t end well for us.

I think it was a case of missed Horsborough but jagged May. I don’t believe it was a case of both in the frame but an either/or. Big Red is a good player, but we definitely did better with May

Tom Duffy is the one I would be putting a contract in front of. Fallen way down the pecking order at North Queensland. Had permission to negotiate or at least look elsewhere if my memory serves me correctly. Would think there is even a chance of getting him before June 30 to improve our depth now (which we might need even more with Luai in the Blues squad for I assume the next 2 matches).

Yeah he'd definitely be good. But I thought why would Duffy come all this way to sign with us as a backup half, more likely to choose the Phins or Titans to do the same. But we'd only be one injury from him being in NRL I suppose. Very talented that's for sure.

Yeah I am a massive Latu fan, but given his injury track record (unfortunately), I think the back up half would consider themselves a chance of getting some starts in NRL. Doubt it happens, but I would be happy with signing him.

Seeing as how it's been reported we have tabled an offer for Adam Reynolds for 2 years to come across from the Broncos, are you guys like me in thinking Bud must already have something else lined up for next year. I just can't see Richo bringing in another half when we already have like 4. I'm just assuming he must have worked something out for Bud beforehand. If he has I wonder who we target if Reynolds stays in Brissie and Bud moves on.

Personally I view bud as Cody walker successor if he stays there.
If he returns to us he’s a decent 14. Can do a job standing in for injury but hasn’t fully owned a starting jersey yet
At south’s I think he is closer to a lock in for the 14 jumper than if he returns so I’d expect him to want to stay there

Have to I've pondered what happened to Madden after Broncos brought in Reynolds. If he wanted to come back to Sydney and WT and still be a backup I'd take him.
