If any plans changed it was from those camps.

Yes we had those plans. Maybe we should have communicated them? Then it would have been understood that one of them wasnt committed and that the other was looking for the security of being first choice with his contract post the current one.

I’m not sure they stuffed up the contract negotiations with TDS …when push came to shove the coach preferred another player …let’s see down the track if he made the right choice

Yeah I've mentioned for a long time especially in comparison to Galvin and a possible move to 13, Latu has exceptional defence especially tackle technique & in the wrestle. He's one of the best on the wrestling mat in our squad too.

It’s what happens with talented players in demand from other clubs… no opportunity for me here to play NRL ..im moving on… thankfully they weren’t successful with signing Reynolds or Latu might be busting his backside to get out of here as well,,

That might have been what was said, but it seems harsh to call it a demand like he or his team are throwing the toys out of the cot. As i said yesterday, if other clubs are offering him a clearer path, then it’s his prerogative to leave. He’s also not under contract, so he’s free to do whatever he likes

Like his mate sees his future elsewhere - it's that simple - and you will never convince me that he wasn't well aware the future plans the club had for him, not sure when the club became aware that we weren't in his though - maybe Gus promised Lachie he get the two of them over there.

Be the backup for Api at WT another 3-4 years
Play NRL immediately elsewhere from next year ..

He should have started that game, he looked like he could have gone the 80. But even at 50 mins, you’d have Mason on the bench and only use him if required.
Especially since we only using 16 players.

It’s rumoured Jahream’s contract value goes up to 900k from 2027 or is it next year ?
As I’ve previously stated I can see some suttle improvements in his game this season, but I honestly cannot see 900k of value in him.
When you consider a player such as AJ Brimson signed a long term contact with the Titans supposedly at 800k per season, however they have since re-signed and made Keano Kini their priority fullback, which means AJ Brimson could be surplus to their requirements once they sign a genuine halfback for 2026 and beyond.
So my question is would AJ Brimson at 800k be more valuable to us than Jahream Bula at 900k ?
I could see a player like AJ Brimson combining beautifully with a halves combo of Fainu & Luai.

Do you think Bula is in the same class as AJ Brimson ?
Even if we give AJ a pay rise and put him on the 900k that we will be paying Jahream, we are still well in front and won’t have to deal with Isaac Moses.
The difference in explosiveness and x-factor is .chalk and cheese,.
AJ doesn’t fall short of the try line last night I’ll give you the tip,

If him/his team telling the club they will go elsewhere if Api stays is classed as an ultimatum, then is it any different to Luai telling the Panthers he wanted to leave because he didn’t want to play second fiddle to Cleary? The Panthers have a lot of examples of players leaving the last few years to get better roles elsewhere. Hopgood and Iongi are two players who immediately come to mind. Was Iongi leaving considered a dummy spit cos he had Edwards in front of him? This sort of thing has been going on for 100 years, players leaving to get better opportunities elsewhere. And it’s usually clubs like ours who benefit, cos we are the sort of club those players come to.

When you have got options your have got choices.
Some players value transitioning under the guidance of experience some want it all sooner.
