Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They played tough for sure…doesn’t mean they weren’t lucky to win …
There was a lot going their way ,,,field goal off the post in regular time , Galvin pulling off a miracle try saver on the line in the final few minutes against one of their forwards …. Even getting the match winning penalty in front of the posts running into a gale in extra time was fortunate as they were unlikely to be able to advance the ball into an attacking position otherwise
You gotta take whatever comes your way mate

Penrith and Raiders are probably saying the same thing with their wins over us

They were very lucky to win against the Sharks …needed about half a dozen things to bounce their way so they could hang on … when was the last time they really put together an 80 minute performance and put a team away convincingly?
You need your share of luck to beat a contender. I thought they really applied themselves for the whole almost 90 minutes against Cronulla, where they dominated pretty much all the important stats and received a deserved win for their effort.
They blew Parra off the ground when they played them the first time as they did Newcastle when they played them the second time. They were 80 minute efforts...or 79 as they let both score in the final minutes lol.

Hey ..I’m not saying they don’t deserve some luck from time to time …just saying that’s not a performance I’m necessarily pointing to as proof of anything

I also don’t think Penrith and Raiders games against us will be on their season highlight reels

Talking and actually putting a deal on the table are 2 different things - of course in the talks they would be saying whats on offer. This is what was originally reported in the media
" Da Silva’s agent has asked for and been granted permission to speak with other clubs, not just the Knights."
Whats weird is i cant find any official statement from the club saying he had permission to talk or negotiate.
If they are talking without the other clubs tabling an offer there is no need to grant them permission. This is allowed already.

I think the Newcastle win was very clunky in attack and they should have scored a lot more than 20 ..although their defence was very good with a lot of physicality, and I thought that was the start of something that unfortunately has been absent since .,.

Parra game was a good win against a team that started the season terribly and we’re missing their best player …but yeah that was a dominant performance on both sides of the ball…. So once out of 15 games them

We were up 18-6 with 25 mins to go

Iirc Sharks scored their only try up to that point on the stroke of half time

Their 2nd try got a lucky bounce off a kick. Not every 80 minute performance needs to be a 36-12 shellacking of the opposition… the final 25 mins of that game was the most determined win I’ve seen from this club in a long time. We should have a few more of those wins to our name (Warriors, Raiders, Penrith and Cows)

If we are being honest it’s been another poor season where our attack has been clunky and worse than last season.
We have improved our resilience and can hang in games for a lot longer which is good, but without adding some quality game breakers we will continue to be on the wrong end of close games.

We give up a try on halftime most weeks … so that’s not unlucky to me in this particular game

Determined win sure … but still a lucky one IMO,,,

I don’t know exactly what the issue is with the attack..the problem looks like it’s here to stay the rest of the season though ..I mentioned earlier that the Wests Faithful Podcast thinks that when they are in the opposition red zone, there isn’t enough try scoring threats within the Tigers forwards for the opposition to worry about , even May is not really a big threat here …so they just concentrate on snuffing out the back threats we have …

While only an infection, hopefully Luai's absence and the forced move of Api to the halves awakens the brains trust to the enormous risk of letting TDS leave early. We are one injury away from calling upon career reserve graders in Hope and Falls. If we put ourselves in that position, we deserve another spoon and Richo and Benji should be sacked.

So has TDS been confirmed as starting 9 ?

I suspect the deal around TDS leaving has already been done one way or other prior to today …

could we also down to the fact luai’s had 4 halves partners in 16 games

One thing that stood out to me last night was how strong the dogs players looked when running the ball. It was reminiscent of the 21/22 Panthers who people accused of being on enhancements as they just appeared faster and stronger out of nowhere.
FTR Im not accusing anyone of cheating, more so impressed with whatever they are doing at training that gets these results. Ciraldo has brought it with him and its working.
Kikau is not only big and aggressive, but he’s very quick for a big man.
I know we are hoping Samuela Fainu turns into our version of Kikau or Olakau’atu and it’s still possible, but I think he lacks a bit of their explosive speed off the mark,
Starford To’a when at his best is somewhat comparable to Bronson Xerri, although not quite as explosive or aggressive.
We are obviously hoping Kai Pearce-Paul can add some extra x-factor and he certainly has all the tools to do it, his issue is he only ever seems to hit top speed quickly on rare occasions, we need him doing it regularly.
Can Taylan May rediscover his best and become our equivalent to Stephen Crichton ? Again it’s not out of the question, but I really think we still need one extra quality outside back and one extra quality edge forward to keep the competition for positions high.
