Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Mate ..with respect this must be the 5th time you have mentioned him, this week ,,, I think most of us get it by now…

Is there anything at all to suggest he is linked with coming to the club ? I mean, I’d like Haas or Farnsworth to move here too if we are just picking names
Haas and Farnworth are not playing reserve grade and have not been frog leaped by multiple players in their current t clubs pecking order.
As of 2026 the Broncos look like their 2-5 will be;
2. Jesse Arthurs
3. Kotoni Staggs
4. Gehamat Shibasaki
5. Grant Anderson

That still leaves their newly re-signed Josiah Karapani as the next man up, meaning there would need to be 2 injuries or players out of form before Deine Mariner gets a start. This being the case I’d guess the Broncos could do with his contract money spent elsewhere and probably wouldn’t stand in his way if he requested a release.

Always said Toa has the attributes we need and we should stick with him. However last night worried me big time. He was back to his lazy self and it comes off rumours he has resigned. If he extends his contract then drops back to the lazy stuff he was doing the past 2 years then that will be shockingly disapointing
Agreed he was way off the pace last night when we needed him most,
Very concerning.

Well… if he is as good as you seem to think he is , then he will have some other suitors if he is released… so I assume the only way he will come to our bottom club is $$$… how much is he on now and how much are they gunna have to pay him to come here without a guaranteed spot?

I think it’s a decent chance we could convince him to come here as a starting player form permitting for similar contract money to what To’a will presumably be requesting 400-500k.
In my opinion he’s much faster and a far superior player to To’a and to his credit he has not gone back to Qld Cup and kicked stones, his stats have been off the charts like a good players should when they drop back a grade, but as we know that doesn’t always happen due to some players poor attitudes.

Without a doubt.

Toa is inconsistent.
We need players who turn up every week and are ready for the hard work.

Mariner is always competing and I like his emotionless demeanour throughout the game. Looks focused. He'd improve us immensely.

Another outside back I would be tracking very closely is Wilson De Courcey a young solidly built and quick outside back currently contracted to the Knights until the end of 2026, but I don’t think there is any clear opening in their 2-5 for the next couple of years as they will highly likely run with;
2. Dom Yohng
3. James Schiller
4. Bradman Best
5. Greg Marzhew

He was a junior rep star with the Panthers and NSWu/19’s etc before linking up with the Knights.
He looks very close to being ready for regular NRL and has the big, strong and powerful physique that makes that transition easier for young players.
Heading back to Sydney could be an attraction for him also.

Ok mate … you have worn me down … if they can get him at that price to replace AD I would probably take it …

Mariner is a very fine young centre and he would be a coup if we could get him. Tucker et al who are not fond of our new culture will be delighted Mariner is of Samoan, American Samoan and Dutch ancestry.

To’a really does cop it after a loss doesn’t he? A forum favourite when we win, a punching bag when we lose.

Erm, I posted once in the off season (of 2022) that he was going to be bad, the woke sycophants on this forum tried to silence me. I'm just so happy with myself that I'm finally being proved correct, I've been saying for 38 months that he struggles to read in defence. Everyone on here was furious at me for being so negative, no one here was ready for my incredible rugby league knowledge. Toa's good performances and his improvement was just a ruse orchestrated by Benji and Richo to make another club buy him so we are force to resign their love child Douehi. I"M TIRED OF PEOPLE PUSHING THIS NARRATIVE THAT WE WILL BE GOOD ONE DAY PLS BRING IN A REAL COACH WITH GREY HAIR LIKE MATT ELIOTT OR GRIFFIN.

It’s not To’a. It’s the balance. I’d keep To’a if he was keen but we do not and have not had an experienced back in our side since Chris Lawerence retired.
Gags spent his whole time at Souths propping up Johnson’s try scoring record on the left. So he would still be an asset either way!
Douiehi is not an experienced back!

You all can sign any player or coach you want in your 'football manager' fantasy role plays. The problems at the club are structural. The football performance in the long-term won't change until they hire experienced and influential rugby league people in football management and development positions.
Isn’t the reason why we don’t have that is because Richo asked for ridiculous money to get him here, far more than any other rugby league CEO and agreed to take on the extra responsibilities to allow us to agree to his exorbitant wage ?

What does being “woke”have to do with anything? We have to put up with that boomer term in almost every facet of life these days. Surely this is one subject where we can go over the ineptitude of this team and its players without making shit political.

This expense is outside the salary cap … why can’t the tight arse owners pay to bring someone else into the club if this is indeed required ? The Bulldogs are paying for a CEO, and Phil Gould for example?
