Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Play the point at hand. You are defensive. He is just repeating what neutral observers say. The owners do not invest enough. That and that only is the point. Don't add stuff in that's not there.

I have no reason to protect bboy either. He is a wanker to me most times, but the truth is the truth.

Sad wannabe blah blah. Keep it coming. Water off a ducks back. You're being an emotional little girl.
I'll make my last comment to you on this matter, polite. In the post that B Boy responded to I was talking about recruitment. I cannot believe that we are slow to identify and move on recruitment needs because of funding. Equally I don't believe players don't come here because we're underfunded by HBG. We were told players didn't come because we didn't have a C of E. Now we do and we still have recruitment issues. We were told that we needed a majority-independent Board to fix our issues. We've had one for a couple of months and nothing has changed or shows promise of change.
The thing about funding which you and I don't know is whether we have enough funding to do the job. I would disregard newspaper stories on the topic because I don't believe in the integrity of very many journalists. The HBG grant is not the only source of funding for WT. We have money from quite a number of sponsorships. I have no clue whether we have enough money but neither does anyone else and, from my business experience, more money doesn't necessarily produce better outcomes.
I can honestly say I have not heard anyone say a lack of money was a big issue for us. You would have thought Justin P or Lee H might have said something on their departure if funding was a big issue.
In closing and, perhaps by way of an olive branch to you, I should say that anyone who has issues with B Boy is OK by me,

As others have said, I think it’s either AD or Tyrone - not both. We have four spots remaining without AD/Tyrone. If one of those four spots goes to them, I think we need another middle, another back and one spot left open for flexibility next year.

The back I think should be a decent utility depth signing - Mapapalingi potentially. The middle forward IMO needs to be high quality starter for us. Ideally a 13.

If Douiehi can turn himself into the 13 we need - too early to tell on that IMO - that gives us a bit more flexibility.

I also really think a hooker/lock hybrid to play the first 20 for Api - someone in the mould of Saliva Havilii - would be a very very useful addition. Tyrone May is probably better suited to that role than AD tbh but doesn’t quite bring the defensive impact that we’d ideally want for that role.
Whats happening with Sullivan

Ok over to you Benji, Shannon & Richo ...

Parramatta have distanced themselves from luring Queensland State of Origin backrower Beau Fermor from the Titans.

Fermor’s future on the Gold Coast has been the subject of uncertainty in recent weeks with the 26-year-old believed to be frustrated at the club’s lack of on-field excellence.

There have been suggestions across the game that Fermor had requested a release from the final year of his Titans deal, or had at least asked for permission to talk with rival clubs before November 1, however Gold Coast management have denied that is the case to this masthead.

Isn't that a typical Parramatta or Canterbury ploy. Line up players illegally, get all the groundwork done then deny they have any interest.

We have the worst staffing spend of any club due to lack of investment. That is a major piece of the puzzle.

Coach, players and administrators form the other pieces.

We can't expect to be top 4 without serious investment in the areas that matter.

The trouble with a lot of old Magpies fans is they staunchly defend any criticism of the owners because they feel it is a shot at the Magpies. It's low resolution thinking and people need to look at the part the owners investment plays in building the club.

Without matching the investment of other top 4 teams, they are setting us up to fail regardless of the coach or players.
do you have any proof of that or is it just an opinion.

I think pending any further depatures, we currently have room for three more signings.

Not sure if they'll be internal upgrades or external incomings.

For mine, we need..
1 - A genuine starting lock forward.
2 - a backrower
3 - outside back depth

1. Think well land something, probably surprise a lot of people. Maybe AD will be re-signed? Have to wait and see.

2. I'd be looking at Kayliss Fatiafola from NZ or see what else is around

3. Internal upgrade. Krystian Mapapalangi or Izaac Tuituppou... I'd be keeping both , perhaps not top 30, but cup contracts at least.
Fermour would be nice, bit on mongrel
