Not sure you could even call that scraping the bottom of the barrel. It is more like looking underneath it and starting to dig.

Keep digging we'll get to Jack Littljohn then Joel Luani

Shouts out to Moley and the Lurk..

I reckon if this is the kind of player we are looking at then one of Mbye, Brooks or Reynolds is to be the full time hooker with Elijah on the bench and this one bought as back up as they are only looking at 1 season backup because Liddle and Simpkins will be in 2021

Id rather Michael Lichaa then all of the suggestion inclduing over Isacc Luke.

The only thing the dogs have been good at the last few years is thier forwards getting on the front foot and that comes down to the hooker

If you compare last season when Isacc Luke was the number 1 hooker for the finals making warriors and Lichaa for the struggling dogs - then Licha'a stats were far and away better then Isacc Luke despite the quality of the 2 teams indicating Lichaa was the problem

Even this year the dogs have won 8 lost 13 but with Lichaa they are 6 wins , 7 losses but without him they are won 2 lost 6 including they have won 4 from 7 plus a close loss to the Roosters when he has been the starting hooker,

@Roar_Power Browns actually a pretty handy player, ive always thought he's more of a half then hooker though. he's also already had 2 ACLs at 24, not sure thats the type of guy we want when we already have a heap of injury prone players

@thegbone
He’s biggesh and kinda strong...kinda avg. player but very cheap.....exactly what we are looking for...perfect signing for the position we need to fill imo

With very limited spots available, 2 at the moment, Brown would be a better choice than Benji, he can cover 2 halves and hooker for the same or less money, as it looks like Grub will be still here. I have said all along, carrying Benji and Grub next year is not a very smart move with our roster balance, and Grub has 2 more years on his contract, and Benji has none.

Wests Tigers are desperately trying to find a solution to their No.9 problem ahead of the 2020 season.

Foxsports.com.au can reveal the Tigers met with Fa’amanu Brown recently to express an interest in the out-of-contract Canterbury player.

Brown has failed to cement a spot in the Bulldogs’ first-grade side this year and does not have a contract on the table at Belmore beyond this season.

He’s still only 24 and has played 36 games over five seasons at the Sharks and Bulldogs, and can play multiple spine positions.

@851
I feel benji will stay with brown being a direct swap for Reynolds...which I don’t mind as brown is a better starting 9 then grub...but grub will always be a fav of mine

If Grub goes then I can cop Benji staying, not if Grub stays though, we need other positions filled on the roster first

Can't figure out why we are not in the running for Capewell....?...He comes across in the Matterson mold... and is a decent goal kicker(i believe)....for some reason our club is not being mentioned as an interested party... he could replace Chris Lawrence

@tigerap That's because he turned down our last offer, won't be coming here unless we can up the $

Yet again another example of WT being able to say thank you to Cleary and his mate Egan in wrecking our salary cap with expensive long term crocks. We have to endure yet again a period of gnashing teeth whilst the cap gets sorted. Feel a bit sorry for Pascoe assuming the CEO was fronted by both Cleary and Egan saying we need these players and have to pay this money to suit Clearys vision.

@THE_POM So there’s been lots of speculation about how much under 2020 Cap we have or have not available? Can you enlighten us with some first hand knowledge that is closer to the mark than what the media serves up to us?

@2005magic Unfortunately 2020 is up the creek before it started. Get excited for 2021 and 2022 but only if we're prudent with our cap and player selection. Looking forward to what Madge can deliver.

And hey, 2021 season isn't that far away. Only 562 days!

Keeps getting mentioned by Barry Toohey as likely ending up at the Knights but with a new coach for next year all that landscape of comings & goings might turn around .
Maybe the new coach is a fan of Ramien & not like Capewell .

@Roar_Power
If we are good to go for 2021.
Why don’t we sign close to a new team for that year and retain only the players that put in next year.
Similar to what the dogs are doing.
By my count we should have only Reynolds, Packer, Matterson and Brooks on the books on big contracts with a total of 12-13 signed that year. (Extensions for Chee Kam, Mikale, Aloiai) and some development players coming through.
Leaves about 17 spots and a fair bit of cap to play with.
