Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That’s not what I was talking about ..
Well what were you talking about?
A quarterback in American football relates to a a halfback in our game… not a five eight.
Not a great deal of black halves and my other point was that in the juniors most positions are determined by size (or speed)
Usually the Islanders are bigger and are put in the forwards.

??? So the current top 5 halves in the game , would be Cleary, Moses , Reynolds , Deardon Hughes . Reynolds is indigenous , Moses is Lebanese and Hughes is Māori . And Cleary is Ukrainian .
My point is, as if it needed clarification was stupid assumptions based on skin pigmentation and athleticism , as if it relates to what’s going on between the ears.
Running the 100m sprint or winning the 400m individual medley in the pool , then sure it 💯 matters as much as anything genetically does . But my original point , was until Warren moon came along the gist was “ black men didn’t have what it takes between the ears to run an nfl offense “ , which was the same gist as an nrl half . Just bigoted nonsense . Like black people couldnt fly planes , be doctors etc . Or women shouldn’t vote or whatever dumb shit the world has all convinced is real so we can pearl clutch to our nominal tribes to feel safe.
So yea … Good footy player …: I don’t care what the background is . Good bloke … matters even less .

Seriously, grow up.

Look, America is crap. Looking to them is like looking at a full toilet bowl for inspiration. They are crap.
You have to go there to get the racism of the place. We went to Georgia and were told "why did you catch the train, that's only for bl##k people"!!

I could mention Thurston, Sandow.. But instead I will mention George Gregan. The NR1 Union Scrum Half. Australia's most capped player.

Race doesn't matter, talent does. Particularly at halfback.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say we finish above the Bulldogs Manly
St George Titans Cowboys Newcastle Dolphins Souths

How can people suggest we are better than the Dolphins ? I’m assuming you never watched them much last year … they are a much better team than us and with even a modest improvement in their shocking injury toll … they will walk into the 8

They used less players then us last year, they won 3 more games out of 24 so better but not much, they scored a lot of points but conceded as many as us. We played them once in Brisbane and we beat them convincingly when they were close enough to full strength.

We're they better then us yes, but not much better and they haven't improved the roster really other then if and s big IF flegler comes back

I agree in some regards, we won't come 14th or 13th next year. I think we will climb a few rungs; 10th would be a good improvement.

I just think we're a second row star away from making the 8. Who knows, maybe Geyer could be that diamond in the rough.

I am ok with 9th 10th but we.just need a little luck to finish 8th

I think the Warriors are in for a big 5 years coming up if they can keep the cracking juniors they have

I love watching them but there forwards I don't think they have the forwards

I think when both at there best Toa is a better player. Problem is both at their worst Averillo is the better player. Neither of them are any good defensively. I think Averillo probably offers a good team more with his versatility and speed when put into space whereas Toa is probably a better option for a weaker club as he can create his own space outside less creative halves.
All in all, not much between them though I think Toa is a better fit here.

IMO Toa's defence at the beginning of last year was impressive. We were caught short a number of times and his ability to move and come up with the tackle was great. Fast forward a couple months and he was diabolical defensively. The guy is just so confusing. Not many in the comp can match his ability to make a break from nothing. At his best he is a genuine strike centre who you just give early ball to and say "get it done". At his worst he is not a first grader

The problem is he has proven to be at his worst for 70% of each season.
It’s hard to be confident that will change on past evidence.

What, Angus Crichton?

After leaving Souths for Easts on 400k (and worth every dollar)?

Ok sometimes people have regrets. I.e. He may go to Richo now because he was good back in the Souths days. ... A little doubtful though as he signed with Steggles for so long.
Was it him earlier in the year that said it would be rooster or union
My memory says yes but the other part of my brain is saying you’re making 💩 up

I'd ignore their game against us and their start to the year in general. They weren't training but rather dealing with the aftermath of a cyclone.
Article on their website saying Flegler has returned to contact training. Still an IF but looking positive.
A couple other (less big) IFs are Daniel Saifiti and Tom Gilbert. Both missed most of last year That is their 3 best middles whom along with Molo forms a decent enough middle rotation. Not elite but can hold their own against most.
