Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Take it somewhere else guys, possibly the magpies section.
We don't want this thread closed.
Mods would never close the most popular thread on here, if they did barely anyone would post on here anymore. If they want to they can move all of it to another thread, but they’ll never close this one.

Xerri doesn’t make sense for us. He wants to play left centre which are covered by Maka and May.

We need right centre depth at a reasonable price.
I know players like to be in certain positions, but they are 1st grade players if they can’t play in the other side of the park , well maybe there just sucks
"Silent" other than having signed Luia, Turuva, May x2 and KPP in the past year and a bit, that is.

I suspect any cap room we have is being put aside to extend and increase the contracts of young players we want to keep, as it absolutely should be. If we decided on a whim to bring in some nuffie like Xerri and as a result didn't have enough cap room to keep Makasini I for one would be absolutely livid.

Of all the clubs I might look at as an example of how to do successful cap management, Parramatta might be in the bottom four u are 100% wrong , go back two years or so we , we’re handing out upgrades to kids who turned out to be useless, YES lock up makasini and maybe 1or 2 others but when a class player comes available, u take him if the price is right

.

Well..I was wrong because it looks like they are in right now on Xerri… if they see a need for him…then let’s hope they get him hey ?

KPP signed for $550k a year … a solid signing no doubt, but more than a few had thought him a bust at Newcastle at the time of signing him ( back 9 months ago BTW) , probably why they got him at that price …I’d stop short of calling it one of the biggest moves in the comp … for now anyway although he had a promising debut

The others you compare him with are all above that price level …

Don’t forget Parra acquired our prize junior TDS after we signed KPP…Tigers might be in front for now on that one though ..
Only bad thing in ur post , u said a prize junior , I doubt for one minute anyone on this forum miss him , he left to play 1st pick at hooker , SO how has that worker out 🤔🥴

Wouldnt know professionalism if it hit him in the face....now blame shifting... you will nevernlearn and grow with that attirude, always someone elses fault

Was just looking at Xerri’s highlights when he was at the Sharks & he played right centre

Yet the spin now is that he only wants to play left .

Suggests there’s more to the story than what side he’s playing …

Interesting the spin that gets added to any story these days .. definitely more than meets the eye i think, for a club that for years has been pretty ruthless with getting players to move on..

Magpies director Alan Fallah stood down after accusing NSWRL of racism

The Western Suburbs Magpies director has been sensationally stood down an after labelling the NSWRL “racist” following a controversial social media post.

Former hooker Alan Fallah has been sensationally stood down as a Western Suburbs Magpies director after labelling the NSWRL “racist.”

Fallah was issued with a NSWRL code of conduct breach notice for bringing the game into disrepute last week before being sent a second breach notice on Wednesday.

He has now been suspended as a Magpies board member – and any involvement with the NSWRL Referees Association and Cronulla-Sutherland Junior Referees Association – ahead of a judiciary hearing on April 8.

Fallen was told to front the NSWRL after sharing a doctored image on Facebook depicting Canterbury’s injury list which included an image of Ali Khamenei, the Iranian dictator killed by US forces.

The manipulated list stated Khamenei was out injured ‘indefinitely’ through a ‘Burton bomb’. Fallah then wrote: “The Dogs have a few injury concerns.”

Fallah, 67, was hit with his first breach notice amid talk he could be banned from attending any games or being a Magpies director.
But the threat didn’t frighten Fallah, who played 113 NSWRL first grade games for Wests between 1984 and 1990.

Fallah, born to Lebanese parents who emigrated to Australia, returned to Facebook on Tuesday night to take a heavy-handed whack at the NSWRL.

“Hey NSWRL, mocking the death of an evil dictator responsible for the annihilation of thousands of his own people is not racist, it’s POLITICAL!” Fallah posted.

“My dad would be cheering from heaven, knowing the sponsors of Hezbollah who have completely ruined his beautiful country of Lebanon are now being destroyed!

“The only racism on show is YOU, the NSWRL targeting me, when it was posted and shared all over the internet by hundreds of others.”

But a NSWRL spokesperson said Fallah had been issued an amended breach notice and would be immediately stood down as a Magpies director.

“NSWRL has issued Alan Fallah with an amended breach notice which has been referred to the NSWRL Code of Conduct Panel for a hearing on 8 April 2026,” said the spokesperson.

“He has been immediately stood down from any rugby league involvement pending the outcome of the hearing. This precludes him from having any involvement with Western Suburbs Magpies, NSWRL Referees Association and Cronulla-Sutherland Junior Referees Association.

“Fallah has published some Facebook posts which some people could have found offensive.

“Individuals are entitled to any private political opinion they want to hold but, as a senior official of one of our member clubs and a member of the NSW Referees Association and Cronulla-Sutherland Junior Referees Association, he is not entitled to use Rugby League and another one of our member clubs as a tool to promote his private political opinions.

“His actions are brought into particular focus in a week where the NRL is celebrating Multicultural Round and our organisation is celebrating the ‘Game for All’ round culminating in an Inclusion Gala Day on Sunday.”

Some on Facebook condemned Fallah’s original post whereas others claimed it was just cheeky fun.

The drama around Fallah – who represented Country First and Country Seconds in the early 1980s – comes just a few days after Wests Tigers scored an impressive win over North Queensland at Leichhardt Oval.

Well done nrl , kick him out of the game he is a grub

I'm so confused why there is interest in Xerri. He would be asking for too much, reports he's on about 300k now he would want that bumped up. May is only out for 5 weeks and we have the depth to cover that. Outside backs is somewhere we don't need to recruit at the moment. Maybe a depth/potential signing but not a walk up starter. We have about 6 first grade standard wing/centres we don't need another one.
The only thing that makes sense is if there is a belief that May might not play the rest of the season.

I think the part he missed is he was painting the Bulldogs and their supporters with the same brush as terrorists. I mean which cultural demographic are they associated with? Is it a coincidence that he just randomly chose the Dogs in that joke and not the Sharks or Parra?

I just fine it rude that he can be accused of what he said , YET the day after the Jew massacre in Israel by hamas , a preacher on TV said he was delighted and over joyed by the massacre, yet HE was never charged , I guess it one rule for one , and another rule for others .
Not supporting him but just think it’s not a even playing field

What does that have to do with Fallah and the NSWRL?

Yeah, I don't believe what side he is playing is a concern for him at all. Being dropped for Tuala I imagine would be part of it, but even then I believe there would have to be more than that as well.

Its funny how he tries to frame it as political commentary and completely avoids the fact it implied the dogs team were associated with middle-eastern dictators. Maybe he actually doesnt get why it was an issue.

Someone on this forum initially suggested a training game blow up between Xerri and Stephen Crichton.
I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere else, so no idea if it’s true or not, but there was a very strange look on Crichton’s face when media have asked him about the Xerri situation,
It might be a case that Xerri is happy to play right centre for us, but doesn’t want to be at the Bulldogs full stop.
A little bit of karma maybe ?
