Because he is a fraud and always will be. He’s made a career from being a talent identified when he was in high school. I’ve never seen someone have a career like he has. He is shit. Case in point, look at Manly. He won’t get resigned.
Agree. It's been said that WT got it so wrong and that Moses 7 and Brooke's 6 was the correct way to play them. Oh well.He was never a fraud, he was victim of the wests tigers playing players out position. He grew up a 6. Stood out as a 6. And this stupid club thought they'd try make him a 7. I feel sorry for him
Plus he and Moses were a dynamic duo. IMO Brooks needed someone to play off and became lost when Moses left and he was expected to step up on his own. And he rarely did !Agree. It's been said that WT got it so wrong and that Moses 7 and Brooke's 6 was the correct way to play them. Oh well.
He shit on the club that set him up for life. He gave interviews trashing the club on his way out and was stood down with a fake injury, instead of exiting with dignity. He was never a fraud, he was victim of the wests tigers playing players out position. I'd have him on the bench instead of the baby giraffe though.Wouldn’t trade our back row to have Blore back. No way.
Ok. Brooks is the victim! He was never a fraud, he was victim of the wests tigers playing players out position. He grew up a 6. Stood out as a 6. And this stupid club thought they'd try make him a 7. I feel sorry for him
100%. The only bloke to stay loyal too. If his ability wasnt up to where we wanted, thats on us, not him.He was never a fraud, he was victim of the wests tigers playing players out position. He grew up a 6. Stood out as a 6. And this stupid club thought they'd try make him a 7. I feel sorry for him
They gave him a BBQ when he left after ruining his career... they did everything they could to belittle the bloke. He shit on the club that set him up for life. He gave interviews trashing the club on his way out and was stood down with a fake injury, instead of exiting with dignity.
The grub burnt his bridges and I'm revelling in his continued failure.
"Fraud" is emotive but he certainly wasn't the player he was anticipated to be. I think the point is why he was a 6 not a 7: sure, he had a good running game and his support play is strong but he was a poor kicker, had no game management and his selection of options in attack fell to pieces under pressure. Anyone who plays in the halves with those weaknesses is always going to be hugely limited. He was never a fraud, he was victim of the wests tigers playing players out position. He grew up a 6. He got far more than a barbeque they set him up for life with contracts that exceeded his output. The club tried to build a team around him and he did have stints at 6 beside Benji and Hastings. Outlasted all the coaches that failed with him as a key playmaker and was backed by all of them - Benji wanted to retain him. He wanted out well before he saw out his contract well documented. Can't be blamed individually for any failure at the club but the club can't be blamed for his deficiencies as a player either. - individuallly talented but not a team manager or leader. They gave him a BBQ when he left after ruining his career... they did everything they could to belittle the bloke.
Lets be fair, as fans, not a soul here could say they havent talked trash about the dogs breakfast this club has been the last 15 years and we ddidnt have to turn up and put our bodies on the line.
Dont care what anyone says
I think Brooks is a top lad and I have all thr time in the world for him

You think he might end up at parra next season. Finally get the duo back together for one last hurrah.Plus he and Moses were a dynamic duo. IMO Brooks needed someone to play off and became lost when Moses left and he was expected to step up on his own. And he rarely did !
I think at Manly firstly DCE didn’t really give him what he needed and so far Fogarty hasn’t either.
Its not Lukes fault the club gave him an insanely big contract and still chose to play him out of position. Neither are Luke's fault. Its the clubs fault. It would be like getting upset if we shifted Api to #7 and didnt turn it on like andrew johns. It was poor management by the club on multiple fronts. He got far more than a barbeque they set him up for life with contracts that exceeded his output. Got to play finals at Manly and has outlasted another coach.
So they backed him. He was given opportunity at 6 on numerous occasions. Everyone who played beside Brooks carried the burden for his lack of leadership and decision making and were moved around to accommodate him. He was always backed by coaches and teammates he just never rose to the challenge. He is the same player at Manly - has all the natural ability but rocks and diamonds. Its not Lukes fault the club gave him an insanely big contract and still chose to play him out of position. Stats look pretty when ya winning.
He better get a passport ready for his next contract.Because he is a fraud and always will be. He’s made a career from being a talent identified when he was in high school. I’ve never seen someone have a career like he has. He is shit. Case in point, look at Manly. He won’t get resigned.
