To get a bigger motor .. ??

He has a big motor, it's the power he lacks.

@4jtigers who would you rather be tackled by a fit aggressive Packer or Clark , there is more to these two other than metres that’s where balance comes into a team a metre eater and an aggressive hard intimidator... so both should be in the side at some point .

Broncos keen on signing Brodie Croft. They're in desperate need of a halfback. Could happen, as the Storm have a lot of competition for spots in the spine.

I would still take Clark (I am biased coz my boys played for QHRLC and that's who he played for when he is still a young kid) 🙂 - again there is a lot to gain (and/or loose) with this young man... take the risk and go from there - with Packer - I think we have seen where he can be and the ceiling has been reached

I hope everything is ok at your end? :fa-smile-o: 😛oint_up:

All fine thanks mate. One of those days I’m afraid .... And then read couple of things on this thread which got my eyes spinning. So was taking it out on my keyboard.
Going away with some friends doing a comedy cruise out of Sydney .... then down to Phillip Island for a family get together. So that will cheer me up a bit.
All the best.

Take some warm clothes, I used to ride down to the bike races at the island quite a bit. Been there in March, April, October and November, was cold every time.
Have fun mate, plenty to see while you are there.
And the fish & chip shop at San Remo as you cross the bridge coming on to the island have the best fish & chips I have tasted

Reading the last 100 pages it seems Packer is staying and McQueen are staying due lack of interest. The only gaps we are going to have is Matterson..arguably our best player and a rough chance of Reynolds and Mats ( if he gets a medical discharge)

So it is highly unlikely our roster is going to be much different in 2020. I guess we all knew that but it is some what depressing

At this stage we'll have the same team as last year but missing Matterson and no specialist hooker.

It sounds terrible doesn't it. We need to improve on last year but we look to be going backwards. Let's hope Madge can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Really hoping for some movement in the offseason but at this stage it's pretty hard to get enthused.

Hearing Packer’s a good chance to be done in a swap/Reynolds still hopeful a team (UK?) may be able to pick up the bulk of his contract... that’s the way the cookie is crumbling atm

Will update with confirmation of clubs and figures probably at the same time our media department do? McQueen staying.

There's no one chasing Packer, he'll earn top dollar playing reggies.

Based on knowledge or just an opinion??

The former...

Well that’s disappointing then

Did hear Halatau on the ABC last weekend saying that Packer's year wasn't helped by some injuries, and that he hopes to get a good pre-season and then be able to play more next year. It definitely sounded like he'll be here in 2020.
So I guess I'll be clinging to the hope that he can turn things around with Madge's help... on his day he still adds to our forwards, even if it's off the bench.

I find it funny that Packer statistically out performed Clark this season yet lots of people rave about Clark's performance yet lay the boot into Packer. Yes pay packet is a factor, but in the end no prop made fewer metres for us this year than Clark. No one bats an eyelid when he makes 4 hitups for 24m.

Both are similar players, and neither really offer what we need. Hopefully they both leave the club but if they're both fit and still with us Packer gets picked ahead of Clark for sure.

Clark 2019
RUNS: 63
RUN METRES: 557
8.85 avg per run

Packer 2019
RUNS: 41
RUN METRES: 416
10.15 avg per run

I'd take Clark any time over the veteran as there are lots of upside and he is young. Packer is only 29 yrs old but man he looks really old when taking the ball up front.

It appears we are going to be stuck with Packer for the next 2 years!.

Who knows after having a crap 2019, Packer may come out in 2020 with the desire and fire in his belly and have a big year, just like he did in the first half of 2018. Maybe a Madge flogging is just the tonic this guy needs!
