Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He done a fine job at the panthers in the second row , maybe get hold of some of his past games
I don’t need to get a hold of his past games. He’s an impact prop because he drops off defensively , like big Royce , and doesn’t have the motor to move laterally for long periods of time. Literally the number 1 asset used for a backrower .
He hasn’t played edge for years. Theres a reason for it .

That said And I agree he can and does play prop but he did play Backrow at panthers so for us he could, possible do both , he is not a prop who carries weight or some fat on him he is built a bit different , I would not like him running at me out wider like KPP and Sam , Spencer would be very damaging and hard to stop as the props aren’t out there
Mate he cannot play backrow in 2026. I love how people think they’re playing nrl 26.

The only experienced NRL right centres currently available for 2027 are Will Penisini and Jake Averillo.
I would happily take either of them, but Penisini is managed by Isaac Moses which would make that hard.
I believe Averillo would significantly inprove us at right centre, but he also has his defensive issues at times.
When you say Lottery Ticket on young players, anyone who has seen Mason Barber play will tell you it’s near certain he will become a regular NRL player by 2027 at the latest and it’s a very good chance he will become an elite player very quickly whether that be at centre, fullback or on the wing.
If we want a quick fix low cost right centre upgrade for this season, Max Feagai would be a good option.
Also with the bad news of Samuela being out injured for most of the season, we should have a look at Thomas Fletcher currently at the Rabbitohs but not getting any game time in their NRL team despite him being a standout in NSW Cup almost every week.
While I’m happy to see how Sione goes starting on the left edge and I do believe Tony Sukkar can make an impact and keep improving if given more opportunity, I think we lack a back rower who has good speed and agility to be a real attacking threat.
Not that fussed on Penisini, looks like he is playing injured or over weight

He never played edge at Penrith.
Yes, he would be damaging running wide but the problem is the other side of the ball. The lateral mobility to check and release, decision making and communication are all huge factors for an edge defender and I don't see any of that in Leniu. Perhaps he can do it, as he's never played there we've never seen him try or fail. He just doesn't look likely to have any of these assets in his game.

you need to trade a player a team wants, why would rooster consider toa when they have talau and ramsay
Marks out for a month, Talau and smith are on their second and third injuries of the year, one more injury and they have a centre pairing of savala and some guy plucked out of Coogee pav starting next week. Unlucky but if roosters think they can get him firing then I think they could be a shot. He’d be more redeemable than a guy like Schuster

Yeh he is injured, osteitis pubis, same injury lamine yamal (soccer) suffers from. From what I’ve seen can either have surgery or battle it week to week with tailored training and load management, but that’s a very long road to recovery

LOL no he can’t . He plays impact prop off the bench , and does that better than anyone . But back row ? lol no mate
Yeah agree hes the total opposite to T.May. Would be blowing after 10. He plays short explsove minutes and just doesnt have the engine to play out long minutes while being affective. Id still take him though
