Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

All this talk of Latu and Javon in the halves might sound new and exciting but has the same problem as the current halves. They’re both 6s.

Neither have an elite kicking game which you need in the NRL. Jock is our only 7 but he’s a level below NRL level.

Going to need to solve that problem and play either Latu or Javon at 6 IMO.

Latu and Javon in the halves
Schuuster, back row.
Latu and Volkman could be a very good halves combo.
I’m not writing off Doueihi, but he needs strong competition to keep him honest and as much as Javon is showing great potential, someone like Volkman is far more advanced than him at the moment.

Bit late to the forum today due to work & I am both angry and disheartened.

Collectively our men's teams lost to the Warriors 32 to 116 this round. NRL beaten by 26, Cup beaten by 24 & Flegg beaten by 34.

This is unacceptable!

Was looking forward to our lower grades today but the same attacking & defensive systems we apply in NRL are applied through the grades, and guess what, it's the same issues through the grades. Our red zone attack is sideways & we get caught in defence on the edges so many times with a final overlap.

I have no passion to write any more today - this club just saps the energy out of me.
Me too.
Very disappointing from all grades.

Without putting wish list names to replace existing WT squad members, are the following generalisations on track?

* Have a performing and effective spine (1, 6, 7, 13, 9)
* Front row and second row have to dominate, be big, fast, mobile and hit hard. (12, 11, 10, 8)
* Big, fast and mobile backs. (2, 3, 4, 5)
* A goal kicker capable of high 70's if not early 80's percentage success.
* Atleast 2 players capable of good tactical kicking.
* An interchange bench + 4 others familiar with main squad routines, capable of replacing squad members for longer stints and NRL experienced and ready in limited levels.
* Coaching staff that can develop and put in place fitness, attacking and defensive plans and routines to counter each team we come up against. One size does not fit all circumstances.

My basic thoughts after writing that, WT are so far off the pace.

That Donaghue is slower than me…
We got enough slugs through the middle
Hes looking like heavy this year hey
I've noticed it also

Missed a few games at the start of the season eh?

He's a weapon player.

Played in the gun Charlestown GF winning team with Hoskins & Gran Anderson.

Yep, Fins couldn't get anything started.

Avo will be fine.
I think he’s better than Average.
A quicker version of Doueihi.

He’ll do a job.
When you say he’s better -
I’d argue I’ve never seen him do some of the things I’ve seen To’a do.
Hopefully he does whatever he can do consistently, the amount he’s getting paid is to play his absolute best game every week.
Fingers crossed his form doesn’t dip when he gets here which could be seen as commonplace.

You’re a good egg mate,
Dust yourself off - there’s always next week.

Much different player to Doueihi, imo.
Always liked Avo.
Stoked we landed him.

Hopefully a few more good players to follow.

Adds some sparke to our backline, imo

1. Jahream Bula
2. Sunia Turuva
3. Jake Averillo
4. Taylan May
5. Makasini/ Tupou/ Tavana
I’d be moving Turuva on, he’s jib is up
Need more than a fast mouth the be an NRL winger these days.
He’s a Myth - might as well bring back Nofoaluma.
