@2041 I think LM perhaps didn’t only want to see his worth, but he may have wanted to also pursue a fullback position, it’s been said that’s where he wants to be, and he ain’t getting the FB position at the roosters.
That could’ve sparked tension in the roosters camp.

If he stays at centre with Teddy there he will earn the same for the next decade. If he nails fullback he can earn bigger money not only now but over the next 10 years. It’s quite frequent DWZ, Valentine Holmes, Gutherson. All made their way to fullback and switched clubs at some stage.

why not sign JAC word has it he is off to souths. on LM signing with us, I would still rather have us buy 4=5 1st grade players 2 forwards and 2 backs. but if he comes I will cheer for him every week and the rest of our great team.

I usually agree with that approach, but you need a really good player in your team to build that sort of team around. Mitchell might not work out, but he's a brilliant player who is worthy of that sort of contract. I felt the same way as you when we didn't get Tedesco, I was slightly relieved and didn't want so much money going to one player. I realise now how valuable a single player can be. So I think you pay big dollars to a core group and buy smart the rest of the way. You just have to get that core right. I think Mitchell is as good as any player in the league. Not just a great attacking player, he brings energy and intimidation.

I do think this flurry of signings for lower grades, potential big signing or two for NRL squad, hopeful weeding out of not required players, new support staff and the remoulding of WT football operations is a much needed fillip and energiser to both the footballers and the fan base.

The only thing I would suggest is that we also need to lock in coach Maguire for a few more years now for the continuity factor and ceasing the almost continual chopping and changing within the squads as new coaches tinker and remould to suit their style. Lets have some continuity there as well which will be a change for WT as since Sheens left in 2012 (?) we have had a merry go round of coaches and support staff.

Also- WT admin- please work towards getting 1 homeground. Aim for target date of Homebush Stadium re-opening then decide, until then we can continue our wandering grounds. I will be one happy little vegemite.
