Doesn’t it seem a bit suspicious that the article is written declaring that Mitchell either plays for the Roosters for next year with no upgrade or Play’s for us. Even going as far as saying a release has been brokered between the two clubs.
Yet the only club Mitchell seems interested in is the Roosters.
I don’t know where I stand with this.
If Mitchell wants to play for us, I’m happy to spend it. Otherwise I’d take whatever rabbitoh rejects on a cut price deal that need to move for him to sign there. Johnson, Gagai, Burns, Doueihi. Whoever.

I think that fact was clear couple of weeks back after which he did not attend a planned signing and our offer was pulled.
Since then he’s been selling himself to everyone that would listen bar WT.. sooooo make your own conclusion on the fella.

In his interview he said he has only spoken to Tigers & Cowboys, thats all. Was going to talk to Roosters when he gets back to Sydney to talk man to man with Trent & Nick (that happened yesterday). So make your own conclusions but at least base it on reality and facts.

Amazed this hasn't been posted yet.

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/teams/roosters/latrell-mitchells-tears-as-roosters-confirm-withdrawal-of-contract/news-story/965d9bd3d0337db18d07a6a2502b4ef7

It has been posted.

Somehow my phone skipped a couple hundred new posts! Lol

I think fans need to see this in another perspective

Let’s say Latrell was playing for us

He meets with executives we offer a deal for 800k for 2021.... he comes back saying he wants to test himself as he’s still young and has a developing family he wants to raise but isn’t ruling out re-signing

He goes to Taree to help out with bushfires and see family for a few weeks and has met with some clubs in the meantime

Went back to the roosters today and they advised him he won’t be there for 2021 and if he wishes to leave earlier he’s allowed to do so

This is where we’re at...... why is there such a lack of consideration to the idea he’s still contracted for another year or that it’s only been going on for a few weeks

It’s either he decides to leave early and sign elsewhere or stay - let him make up his mind as it’s only been confirmed to him today that there’s no chance of a return for beyond next year

After Trell signs then throw money at Fonua Blake too

We got $1m for LM this year and 6 Milli in the bank for next year. I know who I'd want to play for in 2021 if I was JAC too, under Madge.

Unfortunately we have all this money but NO one wants to join us :man-shrugging: :man-shrugging:

I Really don't understand why but just need the first quality player to start the ball rolling..

We have 5/6 open spots 2021 with $5.7-6m to spend. Significantly better position than most clubs. If we get LM across the line it's on - a lot of talent going on the market next year.

I respectfully suggest that you have a good look at who we have off contract At the end of this year, see what their worth , wait to see who else we sign or upgrade before 30June before looking at that amount. Unfortunately there is no way we have $6M of cap available next year. Maybe half that if were lucky.

3-6m is around the mark for 2021. I don't need to do the math I know who's off contract next and what's been reported. We'll be in a better financial position @momo_amp_medo

Edit: upon quick inspection I could be wrong

Will Latrell give up $400k - $600k for 2020 after coming to terms with what's happened at the Roosters?

I doubt it...I reckon he'll be a Tiger next year.

I think it's like this.

Easts want him to play with Tigers next year.
He wants to play for Souths as first choice, and they are having a go despite their public denials. But it's not a done deal if the Tiges can put another serious offer down.

Any 1 that thinks we shouldn’t sign him just watch the highlights of us vs rosters in round 8 and you will change your mind

6 pages in 5 hours on LM.

Don’t have to admit you were wrong, just quietly open it, move these 5 pages over there and we can carry on.

Why..this is a rumour and suggested signing thread..of which Mitchell is a rumoured and suggested signing and no rubbish o the last 6 pages either...funny that..

Carry on..good stuff...

If it’s going to happen, it will happen before Xmas. And if that meeting went how the DT reported it, our odds have shortened.

Not a rumour or marquee signing but would Carlin Anderson be worth a shot for depth?

The amount of times this guy has been mentioned since about 5 years ago....

Went to post in latrell thread and seen it was closed but Stay tuned meeting with roosters yesterday to clarify position moving forward, they got their answer. Tigers and Souths revisiting this week. Titans unlikely but will also make a push. If it’s about money he will be a tiger 2020 and beyond.

We have a heap of cash, and we need to spend it to be cap compliant, options fast running out, we can't just keep until next year, the NRL won't allow us too, **imagine us getting fined for being too far under the cap**

Knowing our luck...lol

Yeah I know and funnily enough I don't think I've ever seen him play in first grade anywhere.

Only way Souths could fit him in is if they got rid of walker, Gagai or Johnston + 1 other. The question is whether anyone would be willing to take any of those three close to full freight? I wouldn’t have thought so but I guess we’ll see.

Additionally, still can’t see Roosters releasing him to Souths in 2020, so that would have to be for 2021

Bennett said he believes Walker will re-sign. If he does, and they sign Arrow, no way can they fit Latrell in. He won't end up on the Gold Coast. Looks highly unlikely he'll be a Rooster. Leaves only one club.

I don’t think roosters would stop a Souths move but don’t think they would do them any favors cap wise. Ultimately McGuire wants playerS who want to play for the tigers. I wouldn’t sell the farm to buy latrel personally but I’d make him an offer slightly above market. If he fires he will attract more players for 2021 so would be worth it there. Tigers aren’t an aesthetically pleasing place to play. So paying slight overs on rep players is fine. I’m confident from what I know from both sides that IF he gets out of his final season of his deal, tigers will get him. It’s not about fit or history for them. It’s about money. And tigers have the most. Just depends if they want to open the cheque book up and take a gamble. And for a team that hasn’t played finals for 9 years, if suggest opening the book

I'd rather us throw a million a year at a Latrell than our recent purchases. If you're going to blow money, blow it on a player in his prime.
