In 2017, when he was only 21, Musgrove played almost every game for Souths in a pack that included the Burgess brothers, John Sutton and Angus Crichton. He's only 23 now and he hasn't wasted his time off judging by what I saw of him on the Palm Beach hills a few weeks ago. Plenty on this forum will be eating humble pie once he, Johnston, Brad Abbey and a couple of others start to perform.

Just wondering what people make of all these rumours. Obviously, this thread is built on rumour and innuendo - its title confirms that but......I have to ask the question - where do the various gossip merchants get their information from? New Smoking Gun is supposed to have had a link with the club via previous work as a statistician (sorry NSG, did I get that right?) Some posters have mentioned having a mate who had direct contact with the brother/wife of a player or otherwise they worked with someone who was mates with an employee of the club, blah, blah, blah......whatever, but am I the only person getting tired of these rumours that, in most cases, turn out to be total garbage....?

This might sound naive, but are some of our 'insiders' just making it up to attract attention to themselves? I'm not a fan of this at all and if there was a chance of nailing the culprits I'd recommend banning them from the thread.

Now, before someone says, 'stop reading the comments bucko', can I just say that there is a difference between reporting authentic comments or developments and just making it up. Also, is there a reason why most of our informants don't reveal their sources or how they might be connected? There seems to be more jokers than ever who seem to love making definitive statements eg 'Latrell and JAC are a done deal and it will be confirmed next week'. Crap!

So far we've had rumours of us being close to nabbing AJ Brimson, Zac Lomax and Jai Arrow. Then there was Latrell, being a dead certainty, door still open to him, AJ to be announced as a signing at the end of last week, JAC considering an offer of 2.1 million......Who have I forgotten? What a load of crap! It'd be great if people could keep to the facts and stop pretending to be genuine insiders with the edge on everyone else!

Don't get me wrong, I love reading about possible signings like everyone else, and I lsee myself as an optimist, but is there anyone else getting tired of all the bullshit being slung around?

Anyway, I really hope we get JAC (much more than Latrell). I'd also be happy with AJ at the right price, in other words for 450k or less and let him and Thompson fight it out for the fullback spot. Dunno about Arrow - if we were genuinely in the running, would he be worth the big bikkies we'd have to shell out?

Before I go, does anyone have any CONCRETE news about any of the above?

Very few genuine people with inside info, post info for our benefit, without doing so for attention. You’ll find out soon enough whose genuine, and whose full of crap.

We are emotional and amazingly passionate. If everyone is honest we’ll all admit that when we read something positive It gives us hope. We want to believe. When we find out it’s crap - we feel deflated. When that happens because some prune wants to boost his ego, it’s annoying.
I love hearing About potential Signings etc - but don’t like it when it’s all about insecurity and ego.
