i have watched Simpkin up here in Brisbane playing for Wynnum, trust me he is a gun, he will available after week 16 and hopefully he gets a crack then. Liddle should be fit by then so it will be good competition for the hooking role. I see Walters as the stand in hooker until then, i dont believe Josh is a hooker in any way shape or form

Neither is Walters. He’s never played there.

Ummm yes he has...0:20-1:20

If you watch closely Walters maybe wearing 9 but it was the guy who caught the chip kick who was at dummy half...

I know an avid Easts Tigers supporter ...Walters is now\ dummy half were his words...in the 6 years he has watched him play..and that's at Q Cup level..would be massive ask week in week out in the NRL ..

Brooks has been playing for years now and has never consistently controlled the side. Blame on Farah and others can only go so far. Brooks has shown no ability in being able to control a side. Why do people still expect that from him now? His 5/8 partner should be the one to control and be the organiser. Brooks strength is defence, running at holes and getting the ball away quickly to others.

He literally won dally m halfback of the year 2 years ago , and was within a stones throw of winning the whole thing .
You call bull to this , but then have a look at his stats. Lead the league in repeat sets . Was too 5 in lick metres , try assists etc. what more do you want . If he gets a dodgy play the ball and the defence is in his face, what can he do ?
The flat ball to Lawrence wasn’t working , more because rowdy has lost that metre of speed , that Garner has shown if you have that , it still works. He can’t use his fullback because , our fullback can’t pass , so the play has to be created by him and benji .
You keep stating this , and I think that, you don’t really know what your talking about .
Not having a go, you just have extremely unreasonable expectations.

Well said
I know it’s been said a bunch but imagine him behind The storm, roosters or raiders pack.
He can only look as good as the other guys let him
It’s no surprise Moses looks better at the eels
Brooks has been starved for good hole running forwards.I think garner is our best since maybe
Fulton?
Past two seasons his best attacking option has been Corey Thompson ?

Does anyone know what’s happening with Billy Brittain for 2020? Can’t find anything conclusive. He’d be an easy fix for our hooker problem

No NRL clubs have offered him a contract as yet..

All the hallmarks of a great dummy half I reckon.

That is if you accept his view, which I don't. Also those qualities highlighted could equally be those of a good centre especially if you add in pace. Hell, they could even be the qualities of a Dally M Half.

He’s miles ahead of our current options for hooker

I liked the look of Jake Trueman from Castleford - I like the idea of us trying a bit of an unknown like him.

No one is denying he has a number of strengths in his game or is a quality player.
The simple fact is he has still to show he can control a game when the going gets tough.... ever.
This is something we have lacked for many years and desperately need.
Hoping 2020 is the year .... should sit him down for a week watching videos of Scott Prince.

He's becoming a very good player. He threw a lot at the Sharks in that final game.

I have no idea if he is the second coming of B Elias at 9 or complete rubbish, I was merely responding to GNR4Lifes emphatic decelaration that he had ***NEVER*** played hooker.

I know for a FACT that he has played at least 160minutes there and looked good for at least 40 seconds.

20 stars for 2020 | Stefano Utoikamanu

191 centimetre and 115-kilogram prop Stefano Utoikamanu has been regarded as one the most promising young players in next year's rookie class.

Wests Tigers have secured him from 2021 on one of the biggest contracts on record for a player yet to make his NRL debut, understood to be worth around $800,000 over three years.

The Tigers were hoping to have Utoikamanu join their first grade ranks immediately but the Eels rejected an immediate request for a release and instead, Parramatta have offered him a top 30 NRL position in 2020 – one he is yet to accept.

The Australian Schoolboys representative played 17 games for the Wentworthville Magpies in 2019, making a massive 604.8 post-contact metres, 35 tackle busts and 455 tackles.

Last year, Utoikamanu scored the match-winning try for NSW in a man-of-the-match performance in the Under-18s Origin game.

He backed that up again this year in the Under-20s match, coming off the bench and making 149 metres from 11 hit-ups in the Blues 36-10 victory over Queensland.

NSW Under-20s coach Mark O’Meley described the 19-year-old as “A big human who’s a really good kid that’s learning to push himself through boundaries more and more. Very easy to coach.”

New Zealand born Utoikamanu has been likened to the Bronco’s Payne Haas and will be expected to be, like Haas was, a damaging ball runner when he makes his NRL debut.
