Can someone explain to me how we were offering LM anything from 800k to 1.1 mil for 2020 when now its being reported we only have 600k in the kitty. The media just make things up.

NRL are journalists aren't the brightest bunch.

Player managers are constantly in their ear with fake numbers, in the hope boost their cut on the next deal.

I am still stunned Doueihi is on 500K. There is NO way Souths are cap compliant if he's on something that insane when they have Gagai, AJ, Walker, Reynolds etc etc etc

Also forgot they brought back Bryson Goodwin. Just collecting backs...

Who said Douehi is on 500 k

Article posted a few pages back. True or not, I don't know, but that's where that came from.

OK ..yeah I highly doubt anyone would be paying 500 k for a fringe player ....well maybe us ...but not a real club

Give it a rest. Why do you bother to support the club?

I’d say they can clearly see how tightly run this ship is now, and can only try to derail us.

IF JAC is moving this year - it is to WT. Dogs cannot and will not be considered next to an *official* offer from us - which hasn’t happened yet - and it shows just how far we’ve progressed... nobody really knows until a signing’s made, but JAC + Doueihi L.M + Johnston. 650-700k for Josh and round it to $1 million for both when the Bunnies start to play ball. Dominoes to fall so watch this space!

You guessing or do you really know something the rest of us don't

I keep a spreadsheet which is an educated guess, and it did have us with $1.7m spare with 25 signed when the whole Latrell thing first picked up pace

Since then we picked up Leilua ($400k) and Musgrove ($200k max, could be less) and extended Twal, Talau & Garner

I've juggled a few others up (Jennings) and down based on updated info and I have us now sitting with $1m for 3 open spots

Publish that information and therein lies another problem? What’s the solution?

Mate I’m not here to play games. I’d take 3/4 of them at this point like anybody else, unfortunately we’re being hamstrung by a lack of movement and stingy management at just about every single other club. I know we will be making a play for JAC and the responsibility here is also somewhat on his shoulders to get in Melbourne’s ear about it all and free up a move. It’s a fact that they’ve agreed to release him on ‘compassionate’ grounds. Hope they find some soon!

Two of JAC, Douhei or AJ plus Stefano for 2020 would to me have us with an improved squad on last year plus with a good proportion of our squad on the way up in their careers, I don't think that's been the case for a while

We need to get stingy too

Also I hope JAC isn't leading us on just to get some leverage to get more out of a club like the roosters and than sign with them

Absolutely. Always our biggest hurdle when we compete with cheats from the East for a signature. Praying it turns out differently??

Dogs seem to burn us a lot as well and in this instance have the players necessarily available to facilitate a trade. Maybe having to force JAC’s hand. It’s really very pathetic with all the smoke and mirrors attempting to hide something so obvious in plain sight. The prodigal son wants to return and you’d hope Madge will put out a serious feeler to them this week/end - just basing that on his previous coaching role under Belly !

Latrell Mitchell’s South Sydney switch set to force young gun Adam Doueihi out of Redfen

Latrell Mitchell’s arrival at Redfern is reportedly set to force talented youngster Adam Doueihi out of the club. The Sydney Morning Herald reports coach Wayne Bennett told the 21-year-old on Wednesday that he was free to negotiate with rival clubs despite having two years to run on his contract.

It is understood Bennett thinks highly of Doueihi but will not stand in his way should he seek an early release. Doueihi finished the 2019 season as Souths’ starting fullback having claimed the No.1 jersey from Alex Johnston in Round 17. But with Mitchell almost certain to take over the fullback duties, Doueihi would be battling with James Roberts, Dane Gagai and Johnston, Campbell Graham and Braidon Burns for starting spots in a jam-packed Rabbitohs backline.

A move to the Wests Tigers could be on the cards with Michael Maguire flushed with up to a million dollar to spend. The Tigers missed out on Mitchell and are in the market for a new fullback. However, they have reportedly been put off by Doueihi’s $500,000 price tag.

Souths do not need to offload players to be salary-cap compliant and would be unwilling to absorb any of his wages for a rival club. The Tigers currently have 27 spots filled in their NRL top 30 and will need to sign or promote two more players by March 1.They will likely keep one spot open until the June 30 deadline, when the market traditionally balloons with agitated players.

The wait-and-see strategy highlights a reluctance from the club to repeat past mistakes of hastily signing players on long-term deals. They have also been linked to their former winger Josh Addo-Carr.

This article was totally released by Souths . It’s to play games , so they don’t have to pay for a player to leave. I’m assuming they need douehi to leave to free up the money to bring in Arrow . This is why he all of a sudden is on 500k.
I’m not sure it’s salary cap related ie. they’re tight. I think it’s so they can bull crap thier way into arrow .

And the other article in the DT today saying much the same was written by Crawley who has been known to push Bennett agenda's in the past.

Media are helping us for once
It stops players from asking for more money because they think we only have $600,000 to spend ?

The one extremely important missing link in all the confusion surrounding suggestions signings is - What are Madge and Pascoe really thinking? Unfortunately we don't know and as a result it's all guesswork in Fairy Land.

I agree Strongee. When Mitchell was knocking on South’s door they appeared to be tight on cap space by saying their focus was targeting Arrow for 2020.

We are the fans. Pascoe and Madge only communicate with us via the msm.

If JAC ends up at the Rorters .. once again the NRL closes it eyes and says well done .. only shows the NRL encourages the stronger teams to get stronger by cheating while the NRL pisses on the lower weaker clubs .. !!

From Pascoe directly and I’ll quote “ I think Musgrove and Luciano are quality pick ups and we will have a forward pack that will rival most - what we are looking forward is gun center and also speed - but not a lot out there on offer - so we need to Dig them of clubs with cap issues”

When pressed about aetkins, JAC, johnston and Meaney - “ All Those have been spoken about”
