I am still stunned Doueihi is on 500K. There is NO way Souths are cap compliant if he's on something that insane when they have Gagai, AJ, Walker, Reynolds etc etc etc

Also forgot they brought back Bryson Goodwin. Just collecting backs...

OK ..yeah I highly doubt anyone would be paying 500 k for a fringe player ....well maybe us ...but not a real club

Because I have a heavy investment ....43 years .....1st year since the WT's I didn't re join as a member

Its about time this club repaid ALL of us for our investments

And lastly it's simple ...don't like my posts , put me on foe or don't read them , no one stuck a gun to your head


Will do. I've been following magpies since 1965 and WT since inception, I too have a big emotional investment in the club. Anyhow I haven't made foes before on forums but I think I'll have to here. Cheers.

Kinda like when you imply that people are idiots because they consider the club to be making the right moves by doing better in the front office and slagging people for "accepting mediocrity?"

No not at all , as I always say it just surprises me how intelligent people (like yourself ) openly put up with this club's ineptitude but will hang players who leave us out to dry

Its just hypocritical in my opinion ....it's never the clubs fault ....ever

But Wests Tigers management are not reading or listening to any of your comments on this forum so slagging people for accepting mediocrity is not productive at all. If anything it is negative.

Don't worry I've dropped my standards a lot , I'll settle for a scrape in Top 8 finish ..even if we get lapped first week of the semis

But if this side doesn't sign some talent soon , we struggle to win 9 games and we will have taken 3 steps backwards

Correct. My info came from one of JAC's cousins in late November last year.

There was a comment a few days back saying that WT management may not post in this forum, but they do read it. Maybe that was someone's opinion, or maybe fact, i don't remember.

I know which players I'd prefer to sign (atm Douehi and JAC or Johnson) but ultimately, if WT make the semis and play well in the semis, then I and I bet many others will see this year as a success in starting to turn around our clubs fortunes.

So Madge, Pascoe, sign who you want, we just want success, make those semis and we won't care if we have 17 rookies we've never heard of before in our team.

Hey, no problem. I realise that 99% of posts here are opinion. I think what’s going wrong for us is that players have this perception we are desperate and as such are only prepared to move for a significant pay rise. I think we reinforced that view with our handling of the Mitchell negotiations.
More recently Pascoe has affirmed that’s the case by trying to turn it around by giving the media “we won’t pay overs”. IMO

It will take time but Madge will fix this place

I think we will all be surprised as the year progresses at how well we are improving

I just hope it equates to wins and not lots of close losses


What do you see as Madge’s immediate areas of concern? What would you like fixed?

I think our forwards hold up quite well in most games

We just struggle to put points when our forwards lay the foundation that should lead to points

That costs us massively

I think with Madge as coach and our young forwards with another off season under him and Musgrove and LL joining us we will go much better this year which is the opposite to most posters on here who think we will go backwards

I think we could use maybe one more big name forward but wouldn't just take anyone as they would need to be a big step up on what we have or not worth worrying about

As most can see on here I think we really need some strike out wide to finish off our forwards hard work

I don't think the forwards get the rewards from our backline they deserve

I think if we had the player's out wide to put the points on the board they would go to another level as they would be getting rewarded for their hardwork

We have players like Garner who do so well running of Brooks

Imagine LM outside him and than Brooks has the choice of Garner (who does well without an explosive back outside him) and LM to pass it to

It would have defences on the back foot

And Benji

It's probably his last year

He still creates so much space and so many options for support plays but he I s going to play his last year with no one explosive running off him

So explosive outside backs who can points on the board, who can win the race to grubbers in goal, who can have defences in 2 minds, who can score length of field tries

Douhei would be good as we don't really have a fullback although he isn't explosive he is better than what we have and would be a ball playing fullback which would create oppotunitities

Xerri would be amazing but isn't going to happen

So that pretty much leaves AJ and JAC

Both explosive pace who can score length of field tries and win the race to a ball but won't create oppotunitities or be the fullback or centre running outside Garner when he is running Brooks

I don't think as fans people realize that the acceptance of this club's crap is half of this club's problem

They know no matter how much they screw things up ...people will keep coming back ......record memberships based on the signing of Luciano Leilua

Looking at our roster at present I don’t like our chances in 2020, but with three gaps to fill that could change a tad, but I don’t expect to much. Anyway football clubs are like governments, if the majority of their voters and supporters blindly accept their policies, they will never change them.

Just my two bobs worth..but I am a fanatical supporter but also a realist

Looking at our roster at present I don’t like our chances in 2020, but with three gaps to fill that could change a tad, but I don’t expect to much. Well said. You can be passionate about the success of the club whilst also being critical. Doesn't make you less of a fan.

Same. We all have a common aim here, to support a winning team. The last 8 years have been ordinary. A combination of poor management, retention and recruitment. I'm assured by most on here that the current bosses have us in the right direction. Hoping they're right, I hate being pessimistic, being a passionate fan is supposed to be fun.

Well said. You can be passionate about the success of the club whilst also being critical. Doesn't make you less of a fan.

There also has to be some objectivity about where the club is at presently and where it has come from.
Blind Freddy knows that to be successful on the field you need to be financially sound off it. You can't have one without the other. So to be so dismissive of those improvements as if they are insignificant, stinks of someone with a cross to bare rather than someone who wants to discuss things rationally. Blanket blaming is a cop out and identifies nothing - "the club" we have at the moment is nothing like "the club" it was 5 years ago and nor are the people making the decisions.

Don’t get this love for Douhi. 500k is way overs IMO.

A solid player but I certainly haven’t seen anything to suggest he is worth that much to any club. Good luck to him if he gets it.
