There was a poster either here or LU, I cant remember note that they had bumped into Doueihi at Fox Entertainment Quarter a week or so ago. What would Doueihi have been doing at EQ? Roosters head office is at EQ.

We really made a mess of the Matterson saga. We must have been in talks with Utoikamanu while the matterson mess was happening. Why didn't we just seal the deal and tell the slime we would release matterson when they release Stefano. We may have had to pay matterson 1 month of his contract but would have had the young kid for this year.

No worry on my part - just an observation of maybe we stuffed up and should have held matterson until the Uto... deal was done and then leveraged mattersons release to get a release for Uto. Not sure why you think that is being a worry wort.

I have seen posters here say "we had to keep negotiatons with Stefano secret"....

But, no...we could have simply held Matterson until Stefano was elegible to be spoken with and then said "here you go, the NSW 18th man you wanted...but you pay his salary to date AND we get the kid".

Parra see Matterson as the guy who puts them up to GF level...they courted him for months. Deal would have been easy and quick.

Only us...honestly, only us cave in so meekly.

Storm and even the terrible Titans refusing to cave. Eeels have got their 7 for years AND nsw squad member from us in return for absolutely nothing.

Ignorant? Wayne Bennett, the master "man manager" told Doueihi he wasnt good enough for Souffs backline. Its a statement of fact. Why do you think it is possible that the Tigers can sign him despite the fact he has more than a year to go on his contract?

Not at all. If he is better than Burns, AJ, Gagai, or Campbell Graham, I expect him to try to push himself into the team. Why cant they have AJ or Gagai playing CC if Doueihi is good enough? Did we have Reynolds and Packer in CC?

This "unproven"kid (not 20yo, almost 22, almost the same age as LM) is on $600K. You dont think that is why Bennett is pushing him out? But we should leap to Souffs aid and pay him $2.4M over 4 years? This "unproven" kid cant force himself into a spot in the Souffs backline and they have to pay him $600K, you dont think THAT is why Bennett is pushing him out?

Nah sorry I honestly don't see it that way. I see a kid that has filled every position for that Souths team when hes been asked while biding his time behind Reynolds, Walker and Inglis.

Still seems fishy that Wayne cares so much to sign and resign other players in Doueihi's position...

I'm not sure where the Wayne cares bit comes from but I don't think Doueihi considers fullback his best position, again it's just a position he was thrown into after they tried AJ there with no luck.


You could go back and look at Doueihi’s rise to the top grade and label him an accidental Bunnies player in any position. He may become a test player by accident as well?

I'm not sure where your going with this? I was simply stating that I don't think Doueihi is being pushed out because he isn't good enough? Geo said it's strange that Wayne is giving his position away but I'm not sure that is his position because he was only put there again because someone else on the team couldnt
do the job.

Wayne is giving his position away to appease the new sook on the block (Latrell).
If we are any chance of securing a player like JAC then we need to hold funds in reserve, not blow it on a Jack Of All Trades.
Corey is more in the Tedesco mould than Doueihi so let’s show some patience and ready ourselves for the JAC showdown - guns are 10 paces.
Also, quality players will be released by clubs to be cap compliant and will be forced to pay freight.
In the meantime lock in BJ, he adds to passion and mongrel we need, I see him as John Hopoate#2. (They were exciting times, until the finger was unleashed)

Also us signing doueihi will just assist with Souths signing addo car too.

So let’s not sign anyone because it might help another club sign a player that we may want but that player may need want us,is it a given that Addo-Carr wants to come back

And you assume that you, a nobody with no experience in player contract management, knows better, from the sidelines, than people actually employed to negotiate contracts.
