Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

A bit of a shame about the Momo swap, if true. I was looking forward to watching him at WT next season. I think he is quality with the potential to be excellent quality. I think he has great attitude.
That said, I understand the logic behind the swap. I just hope WT get his contract extended before the swap takes place.

Someone on twitter saying Doueihi has in fact signed with Tigers. Apparently souths forum confirming same.

Who knows?

Would he be the missing goal kicker and fullbacker we have been looking for? Yes!

10/16 is not inspiring from a goal kicker.

Kicked much higher in juniors. He can kick.

Cams been meant to retire for the last three years atleast

He has got at least 2 more testimonials from the NRL to get not to mention a few more diamond rings for his wife from Turdberg before he calls it a day

As people have stated,if Tommy T looks the goods is there even room for momo?

Tommy T by 2021 will be automatic.

BJ on the other side.

No spot for Momo, who I really like but is too slow / smallish long term.

This deal HAS to include JAC for us. We need to ensure that we get him...

I think we need to remember that Talau and BJ both play on the right edge. The little bit I saw of Talau in Flegg last year was that he was a handful and was able to offload well to the faster men outside. BJ most likely the same but it was a bit strange that we recruited a right edge centre when we already had Tommy notwithstanding having depth can be a good thing. Whether Talau can switch and still be as effective time will tell.

Otherwise, when Momo comes back he goes to left centre and Talau on the right wing but then what about pace and Tommy is wasted there in my opinion. We then have (hopefully) a super quick left wing JAC but then not so quick on the right?

Bj used to play left centre and was switched to the right after his stint at roosters i think. Could be wrong though.
Imo players should be able to adjust to left or right. Especially with a preseason

Its being updated id say.

Give it a few days.

But who is he? & when did we sign him to our top 30? Or is he a smokey? A placeholder for Harry Grant perhaps?

Knights jnr who has been at Mounties the past year or two in CCup.

Redhead halfback / hooker.
On the short side.
Will be good for CCup.

It would probably be way better than anyone in the Wests Tigers top 30. Correct me if I am wrong.

Small sample, but 62.5% success rate is juniors level.

Harry Grant is a far better player than Momirovski. Grant would already have a full season of NRL experience if he was a different NRL club last season. Great pick-up and exactly what the Tigers need.

I personally don't mind Momirovski leaving for a year. Leilua is a far better player and Talau and much better prospect. I don't see him as a major loss.

Harry Grant for Momo - swap deal

Wow. Thats very interesting. Wonder if it's also going to help get JAC over the line

One would hope so otherwise it’s a bit of a let down really. Leaving us with no goal kicker is just crazy., imo.

Problem is, so is no hooker!

Yes true and I totally agree with us getting a specialist hooker, rather than trying to manufacture five eighths, centres and locks into the role. However, why swap our only goal kicker? Not having a specialist goal kicker in the team kinda negates the purchase of a specialist hooker.

I hate losing games because of poor kicking, it sucks! Especially when you score more tries and are the better team. We have struggled in this area for years, we’ve probably missed the 8 because of it and now we finally have a guy who is really growing into the role m, we swap him? Makes no sense to me unless WT have a surprise goal kicker up their sleeves somewhere.

If we are losing close games due to having a dud goalkicker filling in he will be a huge loss. Momo isn't anywhere near being a great kicker but he is the best we've got sadly.

The NRL control the player profiles for every player at every club. It's bizarre, and explains why there's so many mistakes across all clubs. One random person can't possibly know all the players and photos for all clubs.

O'Hagan is a halfback/hooker signed for the Magpies in CC.

Also as one other poster has mentioned, Leilua has spent most of his career playing on the left and only switched to the right at the Raiders. He can play either side.

Because hooker is a problem that should have been addressed as soon as Liddle went down hurt, we are now desperate for a hooker which has led to this proposed trade!

Talau made his debut against Manly on the left. Good players should be able to play more than one position. Left or right should not matter.

Assuming we get Momo back in 2021, then it’s a good result. Playing under Bellamy for a year can’t hurt. I’m sure he’ll come back a better player. The kicker will be if Grant kills it and we have to give him back.

a 12month player swap eh

i see this as a aboslute win

Momo gets experience under bellamy and a very strong team

and we get a gun hooker

then when momo comes back in 2021...he will be a beast

😛ray: please be true
