The Sharks knew they would be over the cap when they signed Ramien but did so anyway thinkin they could offload who ever they wanted , hope they suffer

NRL approved it though. On what basis, I have no idea.

Ramien’s contract might not be registered by the NRL yet.
Everyone knows he has signed, but no one knows if the contract is registered.

Leave the Sharks with Dugan , lets pick off someone they don't want to lose

Is this what you’ve got in mind?

You can’t take Dugan unless 60% of his wage is covered for 2020. Too much risk. Sharks will try and medically retire him.

They can’t just medically retire him because they don’t want him and neither does anyone else.

Other clubs would take Dugan just not for the salary he is on at the moment.

If he is medically retired he can’t play again, he needs to agree with it - doubt that will happen this year.

Career prospects x football don’t look great, guess he would be against a medical retirement. Probably be playing for the Queanbeyan Wombats when he is 45, got to earn a bob to pay for the ink and plonk

You can't just get medically retired if you want too. He's just lazy and wants to get a free payout for nothing.

Suck it up Sharks. You went and bought Moylan,Dugan and Johnson.

We get ripped by the Newsies about getting Packer, Matulino and Reynolds all the time but never here about them.

Story out he wanted retirement for his knees and gummies had doubts. What a way to play the media from the gummies....

Ah according to NRL themselves it was approved?

I thought I heard that they still to need to loose a player With significant $s, before 30/06. And then they still need to upgrade extend Xerri. So yep they could be classified as bit of (dear I say) basket case.

Didn't someone just say Dugan's body is shot? Pass for me

CH9 - after shopping him around and obviously finding no takers for his $900k contract, Cronulla believe his knees are shot and he has a bad attitude. Shaun Johnson rebutted the bad attitude excuse now saying that Dugan participated really well in their training camp. Must be hugely embarrassing for the Sharks.

Couldn't be funnier that the Sharks pulled a salary-cap swifty to get Shaun Johnson on their books and he has been a massive grogan for them so far. What an expensive mistake!

No worse than Reynolds

True as far as value goes. But the Sharks thought they were ahead of the game bringing SJ in at the last minute under pretty dubious circumstances, only for him to be a massive belly-flop. Shame they had to get rid of Segeyaro, they could of had 2 last-minute duds on their books.

Worked for flop-it-out Sammy and the alco Cannonball Run guy from Bowraville. Rabbitohs offloaded those 2 cretins pretty easily.

What do people think of bring Duggan to the tigers, but only if the sharks pay at least 1/2 of his current salary . He can cover , wing , center , fullback, he is injury pron but he can also be a match winner, would be a good buy if we got him cheap me thinks.

He wouldn't be a good buy if he gave us the 950k and himself.

He is an absolute dud, with dud knees and a dud brain.

Stay down Duges ?

Player I'd be looking at bringing over to replace Reynolds if he was suspended for a significant time and we could replace him would be Jaeman Salmon from the Eels, he can play 5/8, C, L so has some versatility, impressed in his time in FG (17 games) and is only 21 in January and was in the halves for Wenty last year in thier run the the NSW Cup GF but is off contract at the end of the year and Parra have spent most of thier cash resigning players.

The other interesting one for me is the lock position although with Eisenhuth and Taylor being offered out perhaps Alex Seyfarth is looking more and more like first grade but Nathan Brown use to play for Maguire at Souths and he is off contract at the ned of 2020 although with an option in his favour

Loan deal will most likely be our last bit of business until June 30

Yep, kept hearing we were keeping powder dry for JAC for 2020 but now he confirmed he’s staying at Storm this year.

Could it be because this is a WT forum???

On Sky News this morning they reported that the Sharks will have to rest Dugan for the season due to chronic arthritis in his knees from playing league and will need surgery that will keep him out for the season .. Sharks trying to plant a seed here for the NRL so they can then pension him off .. !!

That's awesome

Around 800k on their books that hopefully they can't get rid of

Their only option looks to be medical retirement as no other club would surely even want him for free

And hopefully there is no medical retirement approval

Had a brief chat this afternoon with tigers management in regards to what is the position on the 30th slot. Basically they don’t have a specific need to address now. Seem content with the current squad and won’t be forcing anything. The theme of the conversation was if the right fit becomes available the will go hard to secure them.

Might change if Reynolds gets canned by nrl

Very tight lipped around concord with that. Can’t get a vibe on their position. I find it hard to believe that he won’t be stood down, but I think nrl and tigers have chosen Head in Sand with it

All I know is they’re attempting to get the court date pushed forward at the moment. Will be interesting to see how much cap compensation we get and what we do with it if we are stood down.

You can apply for cap dispensation.
As per the JDB case, dragons got
cap relief in the amount that was left
on his contract b4 being stood down.

The commission is meeting today
to hear Greenberg's recommendations.
Should know about more soon.
Can't jump to many assumptions.

Edit: there's more info in JR thread
