God I hope so. I would love nothing more than to see them both put each other's form in jeopardy. As much as I hate Moses, he's way more important to team than an over rated back rower.

Of course you can be bitter. But often with bitterness, it clouds your judgement.

Hate on him for his exit but let's not try to pretend he wasn't great for us.

Idk, CB, for me - still in the basket that Moses was about 2 seasons ago. All hype. Haven’t lost my bitterness toward that douche but at the same time you couldn’t say it clouds judgement. Semi-great player of regular NRL now.

Matto IMO bludged when at peak of his power *here* and tried to let Madge fall on his own well accomplished sword... at this point the players had seen his character - but point remains he was asked personally, specifically by his coach to fulfil a certain role (13) and to keep us in the hunt for a finals berth yet failed and by all accounts refused to do so. Thought he’d done enough for us before even having to enter the arena.

What a load, I says, because to me he always had a question mark over him (as he’d only ever played first grade at the Chookpen - hard to gauge) due to injury, concussions and the form of our previous coach who recruited ...very poorly.

That’s the definition of overrated. On the verge of Origin due to Roosters/Freddy connection.

his call ... he will either rue his decision or it will pay dividends for him

Not really feeling bitter about Matterson as per @Tcat, but understand his feelings and my thoughts, whilst not quite matching yours, they are similar. I thought that he clocked off toward the end of the year and that is why Brooks got my vote as WT best over the year.

As things unfolded, it seems my thoughts were correct, even though I had no idea of any actual tension with Ryan at the time. Probably could have used him as a bargaining chip for Stefano, but not overly fussed, as it was plain that he had done his dash with the squad. So good riddance from me.

Does anyone else think the salary cap will go down in the near future? Fox paid overs last time and are bleeding cash. Their offer likely won't be as big next time around. Less TV money = less money to clubs = lower salary cap

No way on earth fox paid “overs” . Sport is litterally the only content that is profitable for these companies .
They can say whatever they want but RL is the number rated sport in the country , so therefore the number 1 content product. They may want to pay less , but they know where their money comes from .

Yes it's where their money comes from, but that doesn't mean they didn't overpay. Subscriptions are dropping, profits are falling. Everything is moving to an on-demand streaming platform.

Kayo isn't nearly as profitable for them as a full foxtel subscription is, where they can upsell movies, drama packs etc.

Foxtel profits are tanking despite NRL and AFL. Users don't have to watch at home on their tvs anymore. Fans dont' want to pay $70 a month to mainly watch sport. Foxtel's business model is extremely outdated. There's a very real possibility Foxtel becomes insolvent in the near future. They're only surviving now thanks to bailouts from their parent company, who's profits are also falling sharply.

KAYO doesn’t have any production team without fox. That’s the expensive part

I think everyone knows that.

But if Foxtel were to go bust then Kayo would need to pay for the cameramen, directors as well as commentators and all the background staff at every match. They may not have the budget for pre and post game analysis, or other panel/highlight shows either.

I’ve been bored waiting around for round 1 knowing we aren’t going to be making any signings for a while. Can’t wait for our first team list in a weeks time though
