We need Packer - bad move imo.

I think if we got Stefano, its not a bad result. Stefano is very young and I dont expect him to be able to perform to top NRL level immediately but I think he could produce at least close to Packers standard and the experience for him would be valuable. Its a bad time of his career to have a year off.

IMO if we have Packer in firsts, we are in trouble already, I genuinely dont think we would lose anything using a young rookie in his place.

If he was being used in his place, Stefano wouldn’t be playing.

Unless we get injuries. Which is the biggest benefit to the Tigers....Packer running around at training in his last year of Contract or Stefano gaining experience training with the squad he is going to spend the next 3 years with?

Packer, Eisenhuth and Reynolds are being offered to the Warriors. Stefano may be released to Tigers from Eels. No reserve grade some teams are going to do the right thing allowing players to play.

You really think those germs would release Stefano? I doubt it. How would that even work? The only way to do it would be to sign him on a development contract for this year otherwise we would have to move someone out of our top 30 for him to play. If we do that he would earn less money than he would at eels and at a time Like this he wouldn’t want that.

Bateman has been outstanding t for the Raiders,but at 96kg isn't exactly where Madge wants to take our forward pack,plus is likely to pick up a few more injuries against the big boys over the next few years.
Throw in Moses management ,and its a road to far for me for the $700-$800k hed want ...

Reading a few articles about what’s happening next season .. looks like the interchange is going to be significantly cut ... this means Madge’s power game looks like a thing of the past .. lighter fast forwards will be the key as the larger men will tire . So someone like Bateman would be in demand !

Modern forwards can do both. Taumalolo is a giant and can play 60 minutes easy. Twal can play 80 every week if need be. With Madge’s hard fitness training we’ll be alright

Theres a bit of truth in that..Madge has been trying to duplicate his premiershio winning formula from 2014,and weve signed a bunch of huge forwards for 2021.Key will be endurance and mobility.I actually thing props like Twal has has all those attributes will prove invaluable.As for Bateman...hes gonna get bashed regardless at 96kgs..and will give as good as he gets...but it will be the halves and centres who will come into play against tiring forwards.Who knows?

I have been in favour for cutting the the interchange for years , another benefit is there should be less injuries as the heavy contact with new replacements on tiring players becomes less .. all of course in theory!

I would have big hesitations in us loaning any player to Warriors or any team. What if we get injuries (because we will, every team does), can we get our players back? Even if the loan is only for a few weeks, I'd want to be able to get our players back straight away if we wanted to.

Stefano is of no value to the eels and theres no point in grooming him for a future with WTs.Hes not costing them much,and in a normal business world youd take his cost off the books by loaning him out.But it is the NRL book of fueds,so …..
