Looks like Rona was just a rumor, according to MSN article:
Manager denies Curtis Rona NRL Tigers link

Yep, cos managers and players never make up stories….....

NRL: Warriors front-rower Ben Matulino denies signing with Wests Tigers

So it is true then?

I'm keeping my expectations low but, manager and player statements in the paper don't really mean anything.

Just to keep everyone in the loop re: our North of the Border recruit Tyson Gamble. Below, is the address of the recent game in the ISC Cup - Redcliffe vs Easts. Of note
1\. 39 sec into the video - Gamble is the first receiver and then he delivers an inside ball - thing I like about Gamble is that he runs straight, drawing defenders, and not across field
2\. 58 sec into the video Gamble delivers a well weighted kick - his kicks into the goal line have been consistently good this year'

Thanks Freddy, like the look of this kid I think he will be great depth and hopefully keep Brooks on his toes.

Even if anything was done between Rona and WT it would only be verbal as Force are still alive at least for just over a week.

…....................Manly’s own prop rotation is unlikely to feature fellow veteran Lawrence in 2018 as the 32-year-old is exploring his options elsewhere.

It’s understood the Wests Tigers are considering making an offer.

Th Knights were also offered his services, however Lawrence is chasing a two-year-deal which has put them off.

A Super League swan song looms as the most likely option for the popular club man, who has enjoyed a strong return to form in Manly’s 2017 revival after a couple of injury plagued seasons.

A 2018 stay may yet be negotiated, but the Sea Eagles won’t stand in Lawrence’s way should he choose to leave given the service he’s provided since joining the club five year years ago, when he emerged as one of the buys of the season en route to their 2013 grand final appearance.

Manly’s latest round of prop shuffling continues the theme of the past 12 months, and will see them enter the market for reinforcements before the season is out.

Already in 2017 Myles, Marty Taupau, Darcy Lussick and Lloyd Perrett have all been sidelined at various points through injury and suspension, leaving Barrett light on up front.

In the last year Manly have turned over forwards Liam Knight (Roosters), Siosaia Vave (Eels), Josh Starling (Knights), Luke Burgess and Willie Mason (Catalans) Feleti Mateo, while adding Shaun Lane, Lloyd Perrett and Curtis Sironen.

It's interesting that Newcastle are being very stingy with their cash. They probably have as much or more than we do.

Yes Newcastle will clean up if the cap comes in at the low end but their fans are sweating big time at Clearys signings.

I love this line in the article:

It’s understood the Wests Tigers are considering making an offer

as in Tigers have cash his name must have come up just add them to the article

Would be a good signing but not make or break

Would Hoffman (Warriors) be a good signing for the Tigers?
We could use him as a mentor to the other players.

I think he would be good enough for a 1 + 1 option with the 2nd year in our favour, still playing good footy bending the line and making busts.

Completely agree.

I would rather we pick up another 2 second row forwards and 2 young backs of the same calibre as Twal who are on the cusp of NRL selections. We have more than enough experience with the players coming into the team.

I'd like to see this now as well.

Fox sports reporting we still have interest in Watson.

SUITORS LINE UP FOR WATSON

Newcastle doesn’t want the increased chatter about Connor Watson’s future getting out of control.

Are they interested in signing the utility if he was available? Absolutely.

But the reality is he’s got a contract for 2018 and, as it stands, the Roosters aren’t willing to release him.

Why would they? He’s signed on a modest deal and can satisfy several positions.

**There’s no denying he’s a genuine first grader and that’s why the Wests Tigers are leading the queue for his services if he can secure a release - but he’s proving too valuable to let go.**
Connor Watson is congratulated by Michael Gordon and Luke Keary after scoring a try.

While he’s struggled to make the 17 and secure much game time this season, if Mitchell Pearce, Luke Keary, Jake Friend or Michael Gordon were injured, the Roosters have a ready-made replacement.

The Knights view Watson as a running five-eighth and hooker, **while the Tigers see him as a hooker and fullback.**

Fans of either club shouldn’t get too carried away by the chatter.

I think the last line is the one we should be focusing on…
