Sharks forums saying Eisenhuth to them before signing deadline for this season

I say no to the Sharks. They get nothing from us.

Unless we have someone better lined up, and we need the cap spot, then all good, but otherwise they can go back to their animal peptide injecting and salary cap cheating ways and get no one from us.

You really want to play politics over a player like Eisenhuth?

It's not about playing politics, we should only release a player if we as a club want to. No more pressure from the player (like Matterson, Moses) if they want out and we want to keep them and we stand firm and they stay end of discussion. JAC-Storm style.

The Sharks have done us no favours, and are ruthless towards us (that game last season, the Gal field goal), like Penrith, and the Eels are ruthless in dealing with us. We need to do no club any favours, and in this case only release Eiso if we choose to because he's no longer in our long term or short term plans and we have something better lined up.

If we’re that hard up that we don’t want to release a player like the huth then we’re in trouble.

I've no qualms with Eisenhuth moving on. Players like him are reasonably common, but lets not pretend he is completely useless because he doesn't break a tackle in every hit up and doesn't snap blokes in half in defence. He does a job in our side and I think he does it pretty well.

I agree, Huth is reliable and consistent. One thing I definitely like about him is he keeps a tight ruck and he's very good 1-1 defensively at the try line. I could find a place for him each week.

However the reality is Alex Twal is a superior footballer in all respects and Twal has had a good run with injuires. Whilst Twal is fit we really don't have a second spot for a toiling defender, not if we want to create a more dynamic and aggressive pack.

I believe it's the same reason why ET isn't currently getting a run, because Madge is trying to squeeze the same defensive capabilities out of younger players (e.g. Seyfarth, Clarke, Garner) who can / might also develop a decent running game.

Tigers are starting to make roster decisions that make sense. Eisenhuth, ET, Macqueen, Jennings, Clark, Marshall, McIntyre, Corey Thompson, Dylan Smith should all be released now or at the end of the year. We also have an extra 300k with the Farah penalty gone. There should be over 2m in salary cap space if not more as Cleary may have signed some of these guys on huge numbers.

At this stage we have Stefano coming from the Eels. Momo and Grant pretty much offset.

Looking forward to 2021:
Some huge money contracts come off Packer, Reynolds.

We need to retain Aloai, Blore, Cini, Mikalele, Nofa. If we can keep Grant that would be a bonus but can’t see it happening.

In 2022 we have Mbyes Double Whopper contract coming off to retain Twal.
This season and coming offseason will allow Madge to re design the team.

Madge and Adam Hartigan have done better recruitment wise than our last few coaches combined. As you said they’re actually getting rid of older guys to make way for young talent.

Next step is using all that money for a proper marquee signing, someone who’s already at rep level and can make in impact to our team. Not an easy task but we need to make finals in order to help our chances.

Hopefully in the coming years we see more of those young guys Madge has signed debut and they end up being good players. Maybe we can get lucky and some turn into quality rep players and help build us into a strong club.

Thats how Bellamy works, altho Storm do a much better job than us in recognising young talent whereas we import it as much as grow our own.
The big difference is Bellamy can attract just about anyone he wants/needs with his track record ...whereas for a combination of reasons ,established players in their prime tend to steer clear of WTs
We can fix this by getting results/playing finals footy, but no easy task given were carrying about a 3rd of our cap in underperformers/dead wood over the next yr or two

Yeah I completely agree we don’t have the pulling power of other clubs. Roosters also do similar as much as they have signed some big names lately a lot of their players are identified as young guys and brought over and turn into good players. Hartigan did it for them there too. It’s good to have a coach building towards the future

i dont mind Mclntyre

reckon he could go well

dont think we will get Aiken if dragons are now losing Saab and Sailor however never say never.
Defensively a crash test dummy is better than overpaid Nofo

Consistantly makes 100 metres, yeah right!

Would need fifty hit ups to do that.

5 metre runs then gets pushed back three.

You might want to check things Russ..

2019 Running m 1973m ave 93.5 post contact 700m (2nd for WT) Tackles ave 34.9 missed 1,1..

That maybe - but it didn't happen in the games I saw. That is all I can go on.

Have no issue with his defence.

I would pay the Sharks to take him. Take Huth free and get McQueen for free.

You guys do realise we would be zero wins without nofa's tries. He has outplayed BJ, Jennings and Mybe in every game.

Setting the bar high.

Good for the guy and club opens up another position in the top 30 why not !

Madge is definitely making moves to completely make this his team. Eiso is surplus to the team at the moment and going forward. Makes sense if the guy can get a 1st grade gig.

Haven't heard any more about CT to Titans. Potentially off?

A weeks a long time isn't it. Maybe both clubs are thinking differently about their depth after the last game

You're getting rid of 5 players and keeping Jennings?

That'll do me - your credibility is gone.

I don't think Eiso lets the team down, but he's not getting a look in at the moment because Madge is obviously seeing things at training that we are not. If the bloke is not in Madge's top 20-21 players, then I have no qualms with him being released if there's an opportunity elsewhere for him.

It's quite obvious Madge is playing chess behind the scenes and the club is structuring itself with some top quality youth at the moment, but we also need to maintain some good experience within the squad. Can't see the likes of Benji and Rowdy going around next season so there's a lot of experience out the door right there. Brooks game management is questionable, some days he's good, other days you don't notice him, Reynolds and Packer have 1 more season left and neither have played a great deal of FG, so I'm curious to see who we target if Thompson and Eiso are both released.
