is it not the truth mate Jennings gets smashed on here people call him a slug thats ok ?? but to mention Nofo hasnt played semi finals that is petty ??

Yeah it is petty. If both were given permission to talk to other clubs tomorrow, I know which one would be getting offers from other clubs, and which one would be looking to take up a TAFE course.

Look at Garrick, recruited from Illawarra seconds and is a match winner with his kicking. He has genuine pace, can defend and would not cost a lot. Do you believe at his contract value he offers more to us than Nofa?

Yep amazed the Dragons let him go...he can replace Jennings..

Hopefully the Dragons give SAAB the same treatment.

lol..there's more than need replacing before you start looking at wingers...they let in tries cause they are marked by other wingers..

Brett Morris is the best defensive winger in the game but he's too old and a broken down hack..

Everyone is now excited by the Coates kiddie at the Donks..scored a great TRY with a leap but then goes a does what Nofo gets accused of regularly left his wing Manly score back in the game..

Actually I think our wingers are one of our biggest deficiencies, have been for years.

I guess they do say wingers win premierships..

Never said it would win us a premiership, but two half decent wingers would make us a better team.

I would be looking at forwards who can turn up every week instead of 1 in 6 before worrying about wingers..

Nofoaluma is not with out his deficiencies for sure ..however he runs for more metres than any player in the team consistently every week..

you are right Nofo probably wont win you a premiership as a winger but he sure could lose you a grand final with defensive brainsnaps.
Agree though the forwards need looking at too as without go forward we dont have much to work with either.

2018 Jennings did finish third try scorer with 18 so not too bad for a "slug" as some on here make him out to be.
In relation to Nofo i have never questioned his attack and his metres he makes but to me it doesnt off set the defence that he leaks

Tigers are starting to make roster decisions that make sense. Eisenhuth, ET, Macqueen, Jennings, Clark, Marshall, McIntyre, Corey Thompson, Dylan Smith should all be released now or at the end of the year. We also have an extra 300k with the Farah penalty gone. There should be over 2m in salary cap space if not more as Cleary may have signed some of these guys on huge numbers.

At this stage we have Stefano coming from the Eels. Momo and Grant pretty much offset.

Looking forward to 2021:
Some huge money contracts come off Packer, Reynolds.

We need to retain Aloai, Blore, Cini, Mikalele, Nofa. If we can keep Grant that would be a bonus but can’t see it happening.

In 2022 we have Mbyes Double Whopper contract coming off to retain Twal.
This season and coming offseason will allow Madge to re design the team.

Madge and Adam Hartigan have done better recruitment wise than our last few coaches combined. As you said they’re actually getting rid of older guys to make way for young talent.

Next step is using all that money for a proper marquee signing, someone who’s already at rep level and can make in impact to our team. Not an easy task but we need to make finals in order to help our chances.

Hopefully in the coming years we see more of those young guys Madge has signed debut and they end up being good players. Maybe we can get lucky and some turn into quality rep players and help build us into a strong club.

Thats how Bellamy works, altho Storm do a much better job than us in recognising young talent whereas we import it as much as grow our own.
The big difference is Bellamy can attract just about anyone he wants/needs with his track record ...whereas for a combination of reasons ,established players in their prime tend to steer clear of WTs
We can fix this by getting results/playing finals footy, but no easy task given were carrying about a 3rd of our cap in underperformers/dead wood over the next yr or two

Yeah I completely agree we don’t have the pulling power of other clubs. Roosters also do similar as much as they have signed some big names lately a lot of their players are identified as young guys and brought over and turn into good players. Hartigan did it for them there too. It’s good to have a coach building towards the future

The Morris twins for example, are towards the end of their careers and wanted to play for a successful team together. They'd be on low money for sure, but to have attracted them to us we would have had to pay them both big money.

But you're both right, keep building, we start to get some success (make the finals a couple of years, win a finals game or 2) then we can attract a big name and can rocket from there.

Agree and hopefully the COE will be the icing in attracting players to an improving roster.

Madge is definitely making moves to completely make this his team. Eiso is surplus to the team at the moment and going forward. Makes sense if the guy can get a 1st grade gig.

Haven't heard any more about CT to Titans. Potentially off?

A weeks a long time isn't it. Maybe both clubs are thinking differently about their depth after the last game

You'd have to think Thompson is now higher than Jennings in the pecking order in the eyes of the coach.
If so, any injury to the back 5 and we might need Thompson.

I've mentioned this before on here, as you have brought it up again, I'll mention it again.

Out of the 18 tries he scored in 2018, there was I think only one occasion he had to beat his opposite winger.

All he had to do most of the time was walk a couple of metres and put the ball down.

He is not a wingers bootlace.

Hardly ever beats his man, not good under the high ball, does not go looking for work, hardly ever takes dirty hit ups, slow as a wet week, very average defender, cannot read a game well and has a very slack attitude.

Put all that together and you have what is widely known as "IMPOSTER."

That is giving him a wrap.

You have to question why he isn't playing against the Raiders?

Because he's lower in the pecking order than our starting five this week. I guess coach wanted to give Talau a run, and was sick of Jennings. As to coach's opinion on Nofa, I have no idea, other than I guess he rates Nofa higher than Thompson and Jennings.

You guys do realise we would be zero wins without nofa's tries. He has outplayed BJ, Jennings and Mybe in every game.

How many has he let in

All of them..obviously

remember we are not meant to tall about how many tries Nofo lets in on here ssshhhh
we can however bag out Jenning's 18 he scored in 2018 and also his semi final appearances

While Nofo offers a lot in attack, we know that this side of his game is offset by occasional serious defensive flaws. Can't these defensive lapses be addressed by our coaching staff or is this a lost cause completely. As someone has already pointed out, but for his tries we would probably not have won our 2 games so far this year.

Foxsports actually did an analysis on Benji's axing and found him directly responsible for 6 of the 11 TRIES scored down that edge 2 to Leilua 2 to Nofoaluma and 1 a combined effort of crapolary..when looking as to the reason Marshall may have been axed..
