Titans have reportedly put in a 4 year offer to Fifita for 1 million a season and Broncos can only afford 750 k a year. That should get the young fella thinking.

On 360 they were reporting that the Titans may be going to offer Fifita a lifetime deal ala the deals Cherry-Evans and Taumalolo got with Manly and the Cowboys.
Would laugh at that, Fifita on a 10 year/$10 million deal would be a disaster, he'd have less motivation/output than Hayne the flop dished up. Sign him up Big Mal!?


Interested to know on what basis you could be sure it would be a disaster? I wouldnt think eitehr the DCE or Taumalolo deals are disasters.

DCE and especially Taumalolo are consistently good week after week. Fifita is a once-in-handful-of-games highlight, apart from his solo run vs Cowboys this year I cannot recall too many other standout performances from him since he debuted.
Just think he would be on par with Jayne's signing up there. Massive money, no incentive to get out of cruise mode, it most certainly wouldn't surprise if he was a massive flop if he had the security of a $10 million deal in his back pocket. He doesn't come across as the consistent pro who churns out quality every week.


That is quite possible. I personally think Fifita is a once in a generation player. I think he and Taumalolo will end up close to best forwards of all time by the end of their career. it would take a special kind of contract to get a player like that to the Titans (or us for that matter) and a player like Fifita could be the catalyst to turn a club around. Hayne was washed up already by the time he got to the Titans.

Roosters called him up to debut in a prelim final, they must've had a bit of faith in his ability.
He hasn't really had much chance to impress with us yet because of injury. He looked impressive in the 9's earlier this year before he got injured (not that 9's is a great indicator of much).
He'd go alright with a season or 2 under his belt IMO.

I'll give you a hint - he's not as good as people on here make him out to be. Yeah ok he scored a couple tries last year, but if you go back and really watch those tries, nearly all of them were due to the play calling or work from the players inside of him. Having said that he is a good player, not great. Mediocrity wins you games, but not premierships.

I am with you Russell, He showed true grit in scoring some of those tries, something that was not displayed by other outside backs last year. He is young & inexperienced but in my opinion will develop into a top line centre, and gold kicker as well. I dont think Bellamy would have agreed to the swap if he did not feel the same.

I agree with you 100%. He's a decent depth player but shouldn't be in our starting lineup.

That's what I mean, it was talked about as something where discussions were being had but I hadn't seen anything about him re-signing officially.

I agree with many here that Momirovski is solid and certainly won’t let you down but if he is in the best 17 we really are lacking quality
