Read an interesting article in Google News
Roar League on John Bateman still out injured and apparently doesn't wants to leave the Raiders but is agitating for more money it seems no coincidence that the Raiders are struggling big time this year without him their saying Dogs and Dragons are looking at $800k a season for him from hes for last year I think WTS should go in hard to get him away from the Raiders

For 800k ? Really ? Do you think that’s wise money for an undersized backrower. Personally I feel no backrower, not named Fifita,(even Kikau) can influence a game enough to take up 9% of your salary cap .
I think he’s a great player , but for 600k odd.

Souths will have Murray and Arrow on $800k next year, plus Mitchell on $800k, Gagai and Walker on $700k, throw in Reynolds, Roberts and Cook on big dollars, yet they have no cap issues

Souths got lapped tonight . And Penrith to me , arnt as good as people are making out. Arrow had 1 good season . Lucky he got paid this year as I don’t think he gets 800k if he’s negotiating right now. That Souths pack is not great.

On Saab, looking like he will be at the dogs IF released but it is really up in the air. Major cash being thrown at a some players by them.

On another note, most Sydney clubs have been in discussions to resume playing informal (non-Canterbury Cup) reserve grade games against one another to keep players fit. Will need clearance from the NRL.

They’d be crazy to pay overs for him. Looks the goods but he’s played 3 games. Fingers crossed he comes to us if released.

Is he really that likely to supplant Amarillo and DWZ though ? They’re both better than him. Also Reimis smith as well as Meaney . There’s some players in that dogs backline

Didn’t Penrith and Storm do this with their reserve grade side last week?

People need to realise that there is a reason Momirovski can't get a look in at Melbourne, couldn't get a look in at the Roosters and why Madge didn't mind using him as collateral for a season....

I'll give you a hint - he's not as good as people on here make him out to be. Yeah ok he scored a couple tries last year, but if you go back and really watch those tries, nearly all of them were due to the play calling or work from the players inside of him. Having said that he is a good player, not great. Mediocrity wins you games, but not premierships.

I think you'll find he had to beat 2-4 players for most of his tries. Is he winning the Dally M, no, but he's still better than nearly all of our other outside backs. And should be kept above them.

Bellamy was loyal to those who did a full pre season, let's see what happens now.

I’ve heard they are getting Curtis Rona back. We should try get Korobiete back.

Rona is making a comeback in Victoria at the moment

Why would the dogs have more cash than us? Unless they're offering 500k then we can match what they can.
They don't have much cash having already splurged on Thompson. And Dwz, hopoate already on big money and no halves. And who knows who their coach will be. A lot of risk.

On the other hand we're a perennially unsuccessful side. What do we have to offer him? Compete without his material for a spot? Does he want to take Tommy's spot? From memory Saab is a right winger in any case, and while nof is replaceable he's doing well enough not to get dropped ahead of others at the moment.

By the looks of the Bunnies backs, they might be interested in getting Saab in their team as well. Burns is incredibly hot and cold and Gagai just hasn’t fired since he left Newcastle. Johnson on old legs too.
Campbell Graham is the only quality reliable player in that backline.

Surely he can slot in on the left. Not much difference when you’re a winger

Souths are a basket case. Mitchell not playing well, Gagai is hopeless, Roberts is hopeless, Reynolds isn’t much better and Cook isn’t the player he used to be. Forward pack is fairly underwhelming too.

You're going bad when Siro gets a run.

Joey made a good point on the broadcast.
Their current team suits day time football. They need to learn to grind in the night games. At this rate they might have big wins against lesser lights but when the chips are stacked against them they’ll fold.
For mine in that game they went sideways on every 3rd or 4th play and just made the slide too easy for the panthers to read.

How many releases can dragons deny him? Third one next week apparently

He sounds like a bloody sook. He's not coming to us. How would he handle Madge's training?

Compare him to Chris Heighington who travelled to Concord by ferry and train from the Central Coast everyday and even tried to get there during the middle of a bushfire. One has over 300 NRL games and I'm betting the other will be lucky to reach 200.

Apparently Heighno did make it to training that day and was actually on fire when he arrived. Wasn't fully extinguished until he hit the showers after completing the session. What a competitor.

I think the story is he did it once for a trial day.

Players have their strong arm/hand for fending, putting the ball down etc, also comes down to if they can step off both feet, catching and passing the ball with the weak hand etc. In the end a simple job but and skills are transferable but many centres/wingers only ever play on one side of the field
