On Saab, looking like he will be at the dogs IF released but it is really up in the air. Major cash being thrown at a some players by them.

On another note, most Sydney clubs have been in discussions to resume playing informal (non-Canterbury Cup) reserve grade games against one another to keep players fit. Will need clearance from the NRL.

Why would the dogs have more cash than us? Unless they're offering 500k then we can match what they can.
They don't have much cash having already splurged on Thompson. And Dwz, hopoate already on big money and no halves. And who knows who their coach will be. A lot of risk.

On the other hand we're a perennially unsuccessful side. What do we have to offer him? Compete without his material for a spot? Does he want to take Tommy's spot? From memory Saab is a right winger in any case, and while nof is replaceable he's doing well enough not to get dropped ahead of others at the moment.

The Dogs have 3m this year Foran was signed on 1m per season which is unbelievable but true. They stop paying Mbye this year also.
They lost CHN and Okunbur and they have Mariner, Elliot, Sue, Tolman all off contract.

They are going big game hunting we need to stay away from this as our last haul was Grub, Mbye, Packer, Matulino and McQueen.

The Dogs are gonna stuff it. They need spine players, but there aren't that many good ones going around. Like you said, it's us in 2018 all over again.

According to Zero Tackle, Foran is on $1.2M a year.

How many releases can dragons deny him? Third one next week apparently

He sounds like a bloody sook. He's not coming to us. How would he handle Madge's training?

Compare him to Chris Heighington who travelled to Concord by ferry and train from the Central Coast everyday and even tried to get there during the middle of a bushfire. One has over 300 NRL games and I'm betting the other will be lucky to reach 200.

Can’t blame someone for wanting out of that basket case. Don’t think there’s an issue about training I’m sure he’d be able to do it

I can see the dogs picking up Liddle if the grant thing miraculously happens for us. They chased him last year , and really have not that much in thier spine

Do you really want someone who wants a release cause it's too far to travel..

Chris Heighnington use to come from the Central Coast as a young bloke ...just to get a shot..

Not really a good attitude that Maguire would be looking for..

Just a smoke screen
If he was playing every week travelling wouldn't be an issue

Peats is off contract EOY. He suits their style.

Good young player. Let's hope he sorts his future out quickly. It is reported McGregor is chasing Jarrod Wallace which will require a release! Ironic really.

ANOTHER WALLABY COULD COME HOME
Another Wallaby could be headed back to the NRL. Just days after former Storm flyer Marika Koroibete was linked with an NRL return, Sport Confidential can reveal Curtis Rona sits on top of a number of club’s wishlists as he eyes an NRL comeback next season.

Rona hasn’t played in the NRL since the last of his 57 top grade games in 2016 when he left the Bulldogs, switching codes to sign with the Western Force. He scored 40 tries in his three season stint in the NRL.

Rona’s former club Canterbury remain on the lookout for a strike outside back as do Melbourne, Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra. Rona went on to play for the Waratahs and featured in three Tests for the Wallabies.

YES!!! - We are being linked with Rona again. The letter of intention must have finally arrived in the mail.

I dont think i could survive another round of uninformed speculation about this bloke. Please go somewhere else rona

Can anyone explain the fascination with Rona? Never played Origin or for Australia, yet everyone falls over themselves for him. People salivated when he was linked to us. He played for the Wallabies, big achievement seeing how good they have been the last 20 years.

I can't even remember what he did for Canterbury let alone the Wallabies.

I'd go after Adam Elliot. Talented player, a bit under the radar. Mariner is a shot in the dark too. Don't know what market there will be for Sue.

Dogs would be foolish not to do everything they could to re-sign Adam Elliott. Played 80 in the middle over the past couple of weeks and been very strong. A no-frills, tough Finucane type on mid level salary cap expense. They surely won't make the same mistake they did with Dale.....
