He’s gonna have no choice but to accept a much lower value contract simple as that. If some other club offers him massive money that’s their mistake

I have watched young SAAB now for 1 and 1/2 games , he appears no better than we have . His reading in defence is poor and he does nothing in bringing back the ball .

Why do we need a 5/8? We're paying Reynolds big dollars to play 5/8 next season.

Spend the money elsewhere and look for another half for the following year: Keary, Burton, A Reynolds, Dearden, Luai all off contract then.

A fit Reynolds will do me just fine, it’s what we’ve been patiently waiting for. Don’t want Foran and wouldn’t go near Milford with a barge pole - overrated and lazy.

Why people get so excited about fringe players like Alex Johnston ...got me beat

He’s not a fringe player he’s still a very reliable winger.

And sometimes players just need a change of club to get the best out of them.

The main attribute of the top wingers these days tends towards size rather than speed. Sivo, Furguson, Tupou, Morris, Oates, Cotric, Feldt etc. They're not slow by any means but not plain out and out speedsters. They're all big b@st@rds though.

I remember the great reviews Cotric received when he first came into the NRL. Cotric had the chance to win the game after being put into the clear but had a 60 to 70m sprint to the try line. He couldn't do it as his pace became modest after 30 metres or so. It was like drinking a glass of your favourite wine watching if my memory is correct Thurston cover tackle him (over the sideline I think). Just thinking about it made me think what a great player Thurston was for the NRL.

I dont recall Storm being big on marquee signing, i think Madge is aligning us to a similar system whereby we get the most from our squad when they are still on the up just retaining a core perhaps the spine on big $ and the rest is like a revolving door with good hungry youngsters waiting on the wings

For next year if Reynolds goes, how about Mbye to 5/8 Momo to centre then see who is in the market

Marquee signings are the key to failure. This forum went into meltdown over Latrell, biggest bullet dodge ever. Then you have Milford, Ben Hunt, Moylan, etc etc. Get a great spine and fill the side with young goers.

Not me. If the club sinks that low I could never follow Rugby League again. IMO an absolute low life of a human being for a number of reasons not the least the behaviour towards McKinnon.
