Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Maybe Tolman would have far more impact if he was to play 45-50 mins as opposed to 70-80.

8\. Matulino
9\. Liddle
10\. Packer

14\. Aloiai
15\. Masters
16\. Sue
17\. Tolman

Tolman is the worst prop in the NRL. He gets belted and goes backwards every three metre hit up he makes. He ball hogs in artacking zone and stifles the attack.
I see alor of Bulldogs games and every fan I have spoken to would celebrate his departure. I would rather Jack Buchannon.

You make a good point that we need an impact forward with Packerlino starting, Tolmans only strength is he plays long minutes and has a big motor defensively.
He has zero impact even at the start of games and is a bad option off the bench. I wouldn't take him for NSW cup it's a waste of a roster spot.

Korobeite no doubt has talent. But only till he left the tigers and played under a melboune storm structure we got to see his potential. It makes me think that if he never left the tigers he would never of reached his potential. It also makes me think if he was to come back to the tigers will he be just another average winger. korobeite at his best at the storm still had a few errors in him i would much rather jac over korobeite but reality is both are long gone and arent coming back

I really disagree. To me he was always threatening with the ball and did some amazing stuff. Scored 12 tries in his 16 games. I remember watching us play Souths in a game at ANZ where we got towelled, and he just got the ball from 10m out off a standing start and just powered over 3 defenders and scored. He had the talent. For example in 2013, he only played just under 10 games, and averaged 3 tackle breaks a game and ran for over 100m every game. Injury hurt him that year, and then the next year he just stopped getting picked. People started calling out his defensive issues (Which were never that bad).

He had the talent, potential and ability. Some poor coaching hurt him/us. I don't think anyone was suprised to see him dominating at Melbourne .

I thoroughly agree with you!

Actually, I think Buchanan and Tolman are level pegging in terms of being the two biggest plodders in recent first grade prop history. For the life of me I can't see how Tolman keeps a first grade spot, let alone plays all the minutes he does. Totally ineffective, doesn't bend the line and would offer nothing to the Tigers.

If he wants out of a club that isn't doing too bad, I'd imagine he already has a destination in mind.

Would be just what we need in our backline….for one i cant see manly letting him go....but if they did, there's always the rorters there desperate for another back....and surley uncle nick could find another brown paper bag

He stated there's a problem with his contract, was the reason Nate Myles left manly

I reckon Walker would be a sensation at fullback. He can play.

Did u forget the games he played at FB for Souths? Was horrendous. In fact one performance he put in rated as the 2nd worst fullback performance in the last decade based on all KPI criteria

Oh! no SG, didn't you know you can just move anyone to full back and they'll be brilliant. Full back isn't a specialist position or 25% of the spine.

The way people on here wnt to just shove people into positions.

McQueen to 5/8
Taylor to 5/8
Assorted people to centre
and a number to full back - Walker takes the cake though!!!!

Surely Jack WIghton has put in a worse one at some point…

Lol KPI's ….ok.

With the right work (not just thrown in for a game out if nowhere) he would be great. Has all the attributes. Anyone who cant see he has thise attributes is lacking in football foresight.....just saying.

You laugh at KPI's yet every club has these and specialists to analyse results to evaluate player performance. Guess u r right and the 16 clubs are wrong… moving along...

I don't agree. Souths didn't want him due to poor defence he is an absolute turnstile. The bloke is a gun with ball in hand but if you struggle with defensive reads in the line you will have zero chance at fullback. He's not worth the money he is on Manly will work it out. Probably pull a third party deal to move him on eventually.

Was that game against the Broncos in 2015? I was at that one and he was laughably bad.

Tbh I initially thought he'd be great at FB as well, but every time he's played there he's looked completely out of his depth.

Also - today's results in all three grades showed we're in dire need of depth signings as well as those at the pointy end. Both quality and quantity needed.

Dan about town

Daniel Tupou was spotted in Tigers territory on Wednesday, walking into the grandstand at Concord Oval while the Tigers were training. This column was told weeks ago that he is set to sign a four-year deal with the Roosters.

Tupou has a number of close mates at the Tigers, and the Roosters think that's why he was in Tigers territory.

From Danny Wiedler in today's SMH

Gordon another year at the Roosters

Apparently Eels have come in over the top of the Roosters to offer Tupou a 4 year deal.

Roosters' fans finally admit their Club is over the cap for next year and may have to shed players!

I doubt Tupou would be allowed to waltz around the grandstand at Concord just because he has mates in the squad, he would have to be there in some sort of official capacity checking out facilities and chatting with management. Unfortunately checking out the facilities may be our downfall
