Just joined the forum after following with interest for some time.
Hi to all my fellow Tigers supporters, whether you are originally a Balmain tragic or Western Suburbs, the common denominator is that we now follow the same team. Realistically speaking this year is a lost opportunity yet again to make the top 8. We must recruit sensibly, Cleary was a massive disappointment and left us with massive issues. I would be targeting Seizer, Elliott and Hetherington. Together with our young fellows gaining more experience next year we should be far more competitive in 2021 after which we can off load certain overpaid and underperforming players who came on board during the tragic Cleary period.

Hetherington worries me with his technique or discipline. 6 judiciary charges already and his NRL career spans 22 games....

I used to want big name signings but given our history we should stay well clear. We can’t recruit long term success we have to develop our own players that want to be Tigers.

Our track record with no names is very good Luciano, Matterson, Korobiete, Josh Addo Carr, Blake Austin, Twal, Aloai. They just have to be Madge players strong, athletic and aggressive.

It’s obvious Madge has had enough he’s burning anyone that can’t go with him. They will be replaced.

Our Priorities are experienced game manager, forward leader, goal kicker and 1 or 2 speedy backs.
We can’t achieve anything short term with just a youth recruiting policy.
Young players are fine but consistency and early burn out (particularly forwards) is a killer.

Saw Toby Rudolph on nine after the Sharks game, another star. Smart, funny. Jake Trbojevic is another.
There should be a list, probably a very short one, of players to be interviewed after games to avoid all that coached " we got the two points so it was good all credit to the boys work on during the week".
