Christian Welch, 190 metres, 3 offloads, 31 tackles in just 55 mins. Outstanding

Is that more than Packer when you include Packers decoys?

Packer ran 3.4km in decoys - no beating that

I had Welch down for 5002 m.

Will have plenty of clubs to choose from. Quality player.

Definitely. He’ll be offered decent money from some clubs for sure, bulldogs most likely to offer him a good deal. Titans might have a crack too.

Titans have already spent 2.5 million on 3 forwards. Can't see them spending another 500k on another prop

He’s made for the Dogs or Dragons

Just got told by a diehard bulldogs supporter who gets info every now and then that they are chasing Curtis Scott pretty hard and expect him to be at the bulldogs next year. Raiders want BJ back and if it happens Scott will be released. Also said if Dogs didn’t up their offer dramatically to Adam Elliot we would have had him.

first we've heard of Brooks being on the chopping block which I found interesting. Phelps' mail was horrendous in terms of cap money but I wonder if he got right who has been shown the door.

Where was that reported about Brooks?

Tele this morning one of the high paid members being shopped or told they can look around .. about time Brooks was put on the reject list in public !

If true, Cleary had no difficulty getting the best from him.

Why can't Maguire?

We won't get a halfback of his quality in the market.

Plenty of coaches available including Payten.

lol the reason so many coaches are available is that there aren't many good ones. Even Sir Cleary was unemployed for a year.

He's going great at the Panthers!. Payten won an u20s for us, got the Warriors up to inflict an embarrassing defeat on WTs. If he coaches like he played, it will be a positive brand of footy.

Are you related to Payten or what?

Barret is widely credited for fixing Penriths attack. Before he got there it was hopeless - even jr said this

Love to talk about Welch, would love to have him, but wouldn't be too upset if we didn't. I'm a huge fan of what Madge is doing with our young forwards, definitely building a young awesome pack that will mature at the same time. I'm also a huge fan of Joshie A, he is our best forward this year and tops major stats even in his off games, he also genuinely cares for the club, here him talk about it, it comes from the heart. Also watch the team selection, each player is dicking around, he's is yelling west tigers with passion, we have our forward leader.

MG, the less said about him the better, said it before and I'll print say it again " no gets any smarter listening to him"

No, but I do respect him for his time at WTs both as a player and coach. That he guided the Warriors to a win against us was no surprise. We all know he is a very good communicator and tactically he is first rate.

Todd Payten is a shady customer. I would hope the club has nothing to do with him except when he is invited to old boys' day.

I loved the way his teams play positive football. He is one of our own and I am not writing this for any narrative.

MG saying on radio word is JAC has changed his mind and will be staying in Melbourne.

Can you blame him? Who wouldn’t want to play for Melbourne. The most professional football side of the last 30 years. Never been a club who knows how to win like they do. Even the Roosters have their lean years here and there. Not Melbourne. JAC has his entire life to live in Sydney.

Our forwards are cooked because they’re doing all the work. Even when we are winning games, it’s because the forwards are carrying us. Our halves do nothing to take pressure off our big men in every game and we are often under pressure defending our own line in majority of games especially in the close games vs top teams. If we had halves who could maintain field position and pressure we would not struggle as much up the middle.

Johns a few weeks ago said we would not make the 8 due to style/game-plan we use as it is not sustainable.

What exactly about our style isn't sustainable? To me we are the laziest team in the comp. The worst line speed in defence in the comp. We just stand still. Whereas opposing teams are practically tackling us as we catch the ball.

We play with no intensity. Surely a team can at least be lazy all season, or are we not even fit enough to do that?

We have patches of enthusiasm for 20 mins here or there. That's also totally sustainable, but not practical if you want to win games.

I interpreted it to mean if you go into a game with the same rigid, unbending, inflexible one out forward running with few offloads as your game plan it will take its toll physically and psychologically on your players especially the forwards. We've hit the wall and Johns was correct.

Time for specific rather than generic.

As much as i would love Welch, I get the feeling we aren’t really looking at props at the moment. Guess we will have to wait and see

Was only a month ago we were salivating about our prop rotation in 2021. So why waste money on Welch when we could use it in other areas?

What about manlys attack when he was coaching them?

Our attack earlier in the season was firing. Harry Grant injury and drop in form to be expected for a rookie shows how important a genuine hooker is.
Now for Liddle to show the same.
