The only reason JAC and Staines are amazing is the halves and team they have around them. But if JAC is playing fullback maybe he could make more of a difference.

JAC did pretty good with us in a rubbish team. He’s someone you can give the ball and he’ll do something. So many times this year the outside backs have got the ball and had a half chance but weren’t fast enough it skilful enough. JAC turns half chances into tries a lot of the time

I think you are looking back at JAC with us with rose coloured glasses.

Would rather spend the money in the halves myself - Burton would be one,
Try Madden with Brooks before the end of the year and see if we need a half
as well.

JAC is not a FB and will not turn the club around, I think other players will look
if he came to us and say "Dope" or he only went there because no one else
had the dough/or he was there before. Souffs are favorites to get him in my book.

Burton and Doueihi in the halves , Staines at the back, JAC left wing.

Don't think Stains will move from the Riff.

People wanting young guys who have barely played first grade instead of origin talent that’s why we don’t make finals

JAC won’t be getting crazy fullback money that’s for sure. Sounds like the club might not even play him there and we need a left winger - can move Mbye to the halves which solves that issue for now until a good half is available.

He scored tries for us no one else in our team can score that’s for sure. Club might not even use him at fullback I agree we need halves but there aren’t really any good ones available.

Can’t be picky if there’s good players available we need them, 2022 we have stacks of cash and can make more signings then

If you miss JAC we will go into next year with no top level signings we can’t afford that

I would go after Staines and Burton instead of JAC! Both are really solid players and can goal kick! Staines is super fast, a big body can play anywhere in the backline and a genuine tryscorer!

Burton has that class, got a great pass, defensively very strong. And forces a lot of dropouts, something we have lacked for years!

Then use more money on a player like Christian Welch instead of JAC! Welch is a deadset GUN, I believe he’s the best fwd in QLD! Super reliable, tough as team, great offload, will take on anyone, no fear no hesitation

By the way Stains is not that big at about 1.84 and 84kg in comparison Nofoaluma is 1.82 and 96kg.

He’s built like Dufty. When you’re that inexperienced and that small you’re gonna take a good season to bulk up and adjust. Dufty has only just come good he used to just get ragdolled and targeted earlier in his career. He’s worth investing in but again he’ll take time to develop

Unless we
1. Have a halfback who is interested in playing rugby league.
2. Have at least 1 prop that is a leader (sorry Aloiai and Twal aren't it)
3. Have a fullback that is a genuine threat

We will continue to be what we've always been

@momo_amp_medo

I’ve met him personally! You wouldn’t want to believe the profiles! They listed Brian Too as 84 kgs when he was 102 kg! Either way speed = power and Staines has a lot of it

With the halfback ..... it’s been a long process of failures to find someone that compliments Brooks and that would bring the best out of the guy. I’m not sure if the coaching staff will feel the same but for me it’s worth another try given we have invested so much to date.
Next year there will be no Marshall, no Reynolds and Very much doubt Madden is the answer..
I’m not sure what the score is with Flanagan at the roosters but it may be worth a try to get him if available. He would solve the goal kicking problem and be ready made replacement for Brooks if things don’t work out.

That doesn’t mean we should pass up on an origin level winger if ones available.

Tele reporting Barrett will not re-sign Tolman. We need a front rower and he is a dual grand finalist.

Is 700k per year too much?

850k is fair

As long as the dogs kick in half for the first year so that we can honour the 850 and include his 400k from the dogs in his second year averaging out to 2mil for 2 years.

You’d want him for more than 2 years. I think 6 years is prudent.

Ivan Cleary talk. "Big tigers wallet so I'll waste it because I'm heading for Panthers and I'm breaking my Tigers contract".

That Warrior half is very good player and goal kicker.

And Penrith have enough wingers and fullbacks.

JAC is an SOO and Aus rep. Fitter rates him a hard trainer and popular player to have in the dressing sheds.

He turns half chances into tries and finishes where we are unable to do so now.

He is the type of player whom attracts supporters to games and kids form Brewarrina to Dubbo and all towns in between want to copy.

Our young backs will watch how he prepares, Talau will have him talking to him in defence.

I like Staines and Burton but believe they will stay west.

I want both. Staines and Burton are both excellent players and are ready for first grade now. I also want JAC.

Reckon he will. He's not getting a run at fullback there for a while.

Staines more of a chance than burton I think but both could want a first grade crack. They might follow Barrett though

@pawsandclaws1

Look, I’m not against JAC. Infact I want him at the Tigers, but 800k is too much especially with no good fwds or halves to give him the ball! I would rather pick up Welch for that price imo. Staines and Burton together would be an enormous pickup!

I wonder what is going to happen if the JAC deal doesn't go through

Any potential signings must be watching the last 7 weeks and see us barely scrape past the dogs ...thrash Brisbane and then suffer 5 losses ...throw in we haven't beaten a side that was in the Top 8 at the time .......

Any supporter of the WT's deserves to be awarded the VC

Would be monumental for us to sign him. We haven’t signed a current origin player in forever. Would really boost the morale of the fans and the club if we could actually sign a big name

It won't help the problems we have in the forward pack ...but mentally it will be good for the fringe supporters

Fringe supporters? Can you please expand on what you mean by this comment?

Well we are crusted on hard core supporters of the club ....we'd find the positives if we signed Boy George as a prop for 5 years

For the younger folk who don't frequent a Forum like this every day many are probably more excited about the movements of Harry Styles than our constant thrashings

We've lacked genuine pace since JAC and Simona exited. I am excited a current SOO and Aust rep wants to return. I would think all supporters are very pleased?

I've already that signing a current SOO will be a good thing

But I also realize that JAC won't stop the beatings we got v The Roosters on Saturday

Watching talau get mowed down with ease with a 10m head start was depressing

I think signing someone like JAC would make us a 1-2 try better team each week, capped off with morale boosting inside the sheds. He has a very likeable personality

Very few if any players at all in the history of the game "would make us 1-2:try better team each week", but we certainly need some something better on our left flank.

Our players are as slow as a sloth on heroin

Thank god we have Reece Hoffman

Edit: that reply was meant for @Russell sorry
