Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Here's a prop for us, let's wave some cold hard cash at him and see what happens:

Plenty of people have been asking about the identity of the ‘mystery’ player mentioned in a Fox Sports column this week who wants out of his club.

I can reveal his identity - it’s big Raiders prop Junior Paulo.

Paulo left Parramatta to take some big bucks up for grabs at Canberra this season, and the move hasn’t been a successful one.

The Raiders are in a similar position to the Bulldogs, under-performing massively with six losses in their last seven games.

The club also isn’t happy, with reports of in-fighting and Paulo has told his old team-mates at Parra he wants out.

The only problem is that he is contracted for another season in 2018 on around $500,000.

The Raiders are unlikely to release him - but Parra would love to get him back - they have missed him and are desperate for a front-rower.

Canberra's weather hasnt been the best of late , with temperatures dropping to -10
the other day Its no wonder Junior Paulo wants out of the place.

Paulo has also come put and said its not true and he has no idea where its come from. Also having lived in canberra and now living in sydney i have no idea why anyone would ever leave canberra for parramatta

Coincidence the timing of this article and Parramatta in urgent need of a prop! Believe in coincidence?

Very coincidental indeed .. I wonder if he do a slimy Moses trick on Canberra .. please please let me go its for my mental state and welfare .. stuff him let him stick the winter out in cold Canberra.

Tough one, Canberra is freezing bloody cold in winter and quite boring for a significant part of the year, Parismatta is an armpit.

Thing is you can live somewhere better than Parismatta and commute like plenty of people.

I'm not sure if Ivan has another top notch prop on his radar.
He was pretty quick in getting Twal into first grade and he must have been impressed with his debut. Together with Eisenhuth and still under contract Grant, maybe Cleary thinks Packer and Matulino are enough and wants to spend money in other areas.

Or just maybe he is waiting to see if a good prop comes on the market because of cap pressure and a subsidised salary?

Yep, I agree. We need at least 6 nrl standard front rowers or centre forwards. 2 to start, 2 on the bench and 2 as back up to cover in the case of injury or suspension. Plus maybe another 2 if the coach wants to play 3 centre forwards. More signings to come I hope.

Didn't Smoking Gun say somewhere in this thread that Connor Watson would be announced back end of this week? 1 day to go…...

Next week.

Nope he said this week.

The club never announce signings on a bye week. Next week makes more sense (if it in fact happens) to drum up a bit of interest and anticipation vs Manly.

And especially on a weekend that Robbie Farah is playing. I can only take so much excitement.

Said pending on roosters granting release/nrl approval. Looks to be all going ahead though

Some supporters are hard to please SG. This is good news and it is refreshing to have money to chase talent and a coach who players have confidence in.

How can I be hard to please, I'm a wests tigers supporter! Just keen to hear something official like everyone else on this forum. I'm anxious because I think he'd be a great signing as I reckon he has a bright future. Speed to burn.

There are some handy players in the QLD and NSW cup.
QLD: Tom Opacic, Moses Pangai, Gideon Gela Mosby, Jai Arrow, Tevita Pangai, Ese'Ese, Jaydn Sua, Vai Vai.
NSW: Fisher-Harris, Tagatese, Auava, Kikau, Kyle Turner, Brenko Lee, Isaiah Papali, Kato Ottio, Mose Masoe, Mitch Cornish, Shaun Lane.

Most are signed but there are a few forwards we could use.

Agree he will be a great signing. SG and Geo have explained there is a process to follow and the Roosters really wanted to keep him. cheers.

I have been watching a 23nd rower off contract from Manly & i think he is a Wests Tigers Jnr, Winterstein could be a good signing, whats everyones thoughts.
