I wonder if we would consider having woods back? Time heals wounds I'd prefer him over Tamou

Tamou>>>>>>>>Woods.
Woods barely gets a gig in an average team at Sharps......Tamou is getting picked to play in a team dominating the comp.
If Woods came to us for minimum wage $120k then maybe he'd be worth a look. That's about it though.
Let's not forget how he dumped on WT when he left, those things shouldn't be forgotten easily IMO.

I have never seen any evidence that Woods did anything wrong. Just because something is repeated on a forum 1000 times does not make it true.

Woods was captain of our club when he signed on to the Dogs...He strung the club (fans, members and sponsors) along for months, throwing up poor excuses whey he wont commit to us before signing with the Dogs. In the end it was clear he had no intentions of staying, he was working with his manager to get 3 of the big 4 signed up with the Dogs....we all know what happened there. So if he were to come back, it should be on a 2year contract on no more than $450-$500 p.a.....

He wanted to know who the coach was going to be. There was no ultimatum, not attempt to get rid of JT, he just asked the board to make a decision.

When he found out who the coach was going to be, he sulked about no one talking to him about it first before firing JT.

It's water under the bridge though. If he wants to come back at a modest wage, I'd take him back. We need forwards who not only make metres but can pass the ball.

The actual quotes I saw from Woods all looked good. That period was handled very badly by Wests Tigers and the media always tries to make things worse.

Didn't he do an "exclusive tell all" when he signed with Bulldogs? I could be wrong but I think it was released on a match day.

Agree it was all handled terribly.

Don’t worry he will probably never win a premiership anyway he hasn’t gotten better since leaving the tigers

Compforted by Tamau! That's funny.

Hey can anyone please tell me if it's actually possible to offload Mbye? Its obvious his best position is no where in the team next year. Is any club interested at all? Thanks

Did you watch Saturdays game?

Mbye had a great game at fullback which I think is his best position. I totally understand that we will never get value for money from him but IMO he is more than capable of providing a very valuable position for the team. Again in my opinion he always puts it.

I’m with you. I don’t get the hate for Mbye. He works himself to a bone every game for the tigers, People just aren’t happy with his price tag but I would say on effort alone he could justify at least 2/3s of his salary.

I agree... If he was on say 500k people would be cheering him on and not concerned.. He does cover a lot of positions and does a hell of a lot more than Packer and Reynolds.. Also stays injury free

He puts in every game, plays multiple positions and has had one bad game all season.

Would be good if these Saturday sign-ups started eventuating...

I'm sure in 48hrs we will hear the signing news

Tamou I'm 50/50 - it may be great or maybe awful. Welch would be my first pick if we can get into the discussion.

The one I really want is Brandon Smith. Aggressive, ball player who can play anywhere in the forwards and will be coming from the best system in the league. Leads by example and is a genuine competitor. If Harry goes back to Storm, I'd be making a huge play for him to play lock and be there to backup Liddle if he breaks down. Add him to our forwards and it looks a lot stronger and his experience will help the others learn about hard work.

Of course, he'd need a clause similar to Harry to get out of Storm but we can always hope.

It all depends on Cameron Smith. If he retires, the money and positions are there for both Brandon and Harry to stay at the Storms.

I've always wondered...when did "The Storm" turn into "The Storm**s**"?

You and I both. The amount of people that pluralise "Storm" drives me nuts.

Agree. I don't understand it. Drives me mad

No, I don't think any of these relatives that know stuff on Facebook are related. The only thing they have in common is their hearing. They all seem to hear things that never came to be.

Are the Tigers really going to pay out another coach? His sacking would amount to six coaches in seven years.

The next journo that writes something like this, seriously, I am going to Lawnmower man myself into the internet, travel down to their computer, rematerialise and smash their heads through the monitor.

Firstly, if Madge was sacked in 2020, that would mean a new coach in 2021. Seven years backwards from 2021 is 2014. 2014 the coach was Michael Potter. Including Potter, you have JT, Cleary and then Madge as head coaches who would have been sacked. Therefore it's 4 coaches in 7 years.

They include Andrew Webster who was only ever interim coach, as any club who sacks the coach has an interim, and Webster is still at the club.

Where do they get 6 from? Even including Webster it's only 5 coaches, which means they are referring to Sheens. To include Sheens you have to go back 10 years, so at worst it's 5 coaches in 10 years.

It's lazy crappy journalism to fund an incorrect narrative that Tigers sack coaches, when Cleary left and only 3 have been sacked in the past 9 years. It's not a great stat but it's hardly unusual in League - in the same period since 2012, Saints have had 3 coaches and the current interim, Warriors have had 4 plus the interim, Titans have had 4, Broncos 3 plus the current interim, Knights 4, Souths 3, Panthers 3 (ironically the same bloke twice), Sharks 3 (not including Flanagan being replaced for 2 years), Manly 3. In fact it's rare to have less than 3-4 coaches in a 9-year period in the NRL.

Mate, NRL journalism is just the lowest of the low these days. Even Chammas, who seemed a class above, resorted to making gossipy comments ("people aren't exactly lining up to hire him") about Maguire today. If any of these blokes were to write about Meghan and Harry I wouldn't be surprised. In fact, I expect they do.

When you say 3 have been sacked, are you including Potter ? My recollection is that he finished his contract and was not extended. Strictly speaking JT is the only coach to have been sacked since Sheens.

It is an urban myth about Potter getting sacked, his 2 year contract was up and it didn't get renewed, just like we are doing with players now, and every club does
