ET seems a decent man who always tried hard but just fell short of the sort of player we need. He certainly put his body on the line for us and for that he deserves respect and thanks.

Not surprising, he's been a solid clubman and he's got a great motor but he does play with a crook knee and we need some more grunt in the middle if our pack is going to compete with the best.

If squad sizes were still 30 I'd even consider keeping Taylor on a 1 year deal given he's still a great defender, but realistically if we're not competing next year, there's no point since he won't be a piece of a contender come 2022 onwards.

Did you watch Saturdays game?

Mbye had a great game at fullback which I think is his best position. I totally understand that we will never get value for money from him but IMO he is more than capable of providing a very valuable position for the team. Again in my opinion he always puts it.

He added spark in attack and his kicking game was good.

Unfortunately he cannot regularly catch high kicks. That is a big concern for a fullback.

ET is not suited by the current rules. He has gone from being close to a marquee player to being a roster filler.

He could play a role in a club with a better roster, but is not what we need at the moment.

There's no additional cap space as ET wasn't signed beyond this season. Extra cap space will come if we can offload a contracted player who we don't need - aka Reynolds or Packer...

True, but IMO its something taht can be learned and is mostly confidence. He hasnt really been found out in that aspect yet this year.
