Are people forgetting that we lack funds and cannot go out and by another game changing forward until we lose Reynolds & Packer... I think its smart if we were to pick up Tamou on say a 2 year deal as he would full in 1 of our front row places and not cost an arm or leg..
Its called a salary cap and I would rather spend a few hundred thousand on Tamou then go without until our salary cap is fixed. We have a heap of Young players that need leadership and he fits that bill.
Remember he is not going to be a superstar and make 200+ m a game so take that out of your minds. (he will do better than Packer)

Tamou is 31, he will be 32 next year. There is a reason he is being let go. Youth and speed, youth and speed.

He will be 32 this year

Tamou I'm 50/50 - it may be great or maybe awful. Welch would be my first pick if we can get into the discussion.

The one I really want is Brandon Smith. Aggressive, ball player who can play anywhere in the forwards and will be coming from the best system in the league. Leads by example and is a genuine competitor. If Harry goes back to Storm, I'd be making a huge play for him to play lock and be there to backup Liddle if he breaks down. Add him to our forwards and it looks a lot stronger and his experience will help the others learn about hard work.

Of course, he'd need a clause similar to Harry to get out of Storm but we can always hope.

It all depends on Cameron Smith. If he retires, the money and positions are there for both Brandon and Harry to stay at the Storms.

I'm 50/50 on Tamou. our pack needs experience and leadership and he ticks those boxes, but he might struggle in an unbalanced pack like ours. I feel like Welch is the one that got away, he would've been brilliant here.

if we want a front rower from Penrith we should be throwing the kitchen sink at Spencer Leniu. him and Stefano could be our starting front rowers for the next ten years.

Roosters have JWH. Melb have Bromwich. Newcastle Kleemer. Canberra papalli. All leaders all getting on. We have josh. No disrespect to josh but he's not a leader yet. Tamou would be a great signing. he is no packer. The experience would be invaluable to our young pack and what he offers on the field.

Word. When Harry went lock we looked great. Smith would.be Awesome. Who even is our lock next year

Like others, I find it hard to get very excited by Tamou, but you're dreaming if you think 140m a game isn't better than what we have. And only 6 missed tackles. But, only 2 seasons, please.

I've always wondered...when did "The Storm" turn into "The Storm**s**"?

Loooooong shot...but Cameron McInnes is off-contract at the end of next year. He'd be a great player for the program we're trying to build.

@Geo started storms a few seasons ago

There was mentioned somewhere Jesse Bromwich has an option to take up with "Storms" next year. If he hasn't taken it up he at this stage we should be all over him. Knows the systems, hard training and accountability. He's a winner, leader and aggressive. Exactly the sort of bloke needed to lead this forward pack.

Tamou .. he'snot the type of player that demands the look at me look at me i'm a superstar .. but he is the type of player who will lead by example, you know what you're gonna get with him .. he's not a super flashy superstar, he's a honest no frills, no nonsense, a 140+ meters, 30 to 40 per game and that's what you get from him every game .. !! Our young pack will need a work horse, like many have said already, we will need someone to help Aloiai carry the load. If Tamou come at the right price, he'd be worth a shot .. we will get more vaue at of him than Packer, Matulino, Reynolds, and McQueen all thrown in together .. !!

Adam Blair was also a winner, leader, aggressive, knows systems. He has been in good form lately. Haha I like Jess, jus sayin 😅👍

If Welch isn't signing with dragons because of uncertainty over the coach, we should extend Madge and target him to be our forwards leader

He has resigned with Melbourne, Dragons are chasing Flegler or Wallace. With we we already have in regards to Props I would rather see the Tigers chase an enforcer like Hipgrave or bring back Sam Moa from Super League.

Alot of people underestimate Tamou because he isn’t the flashy style player or one that will decimate defenders. But he is a class no nonsense prop, true professional & forwards around him get better.

Cowboys have struggled in the forwards since he left, Panthers have lifted big time and he has played a part. His fitness levels are brilliant, his lateral movement for a prop in defense is great and he is good for 140ms plus a game. He is always back on kick returns. His hunger and drive is the style of player we need in our forwards.

With Stefano, Blore, Josh, Mc and other kids we need a true professional forward which Tamou is.

People say go after the Panthers juniors, issue is the other props in their roster aren’t young or aren’t available.

If we are letting Packer go which everyone wants we need another prop & well then Tamou is the absolute best by a mile that we have a chance to recruit.

We can talk about others but they aren’t available or won’t move to Sydney

I honestly don't understand the hype around Hipgrave. Yes, he is aggressive, but aside from that he is rubbish. His aggression isn't controlled either, so he spends plenty of time on the sidelines suspended.

Good post which I enjoyed reading. The Club should bring in an ex forward with a good defensive technique to teach our forwards to drive using the shoulder like McIntyre and Taylor. Both are not greatly huge but they do make an impact.

Apparently a guy on Facebook spoke to a relative of Tamou's and they reckon the signing will be announced this Saturday. Pretty legit if they spoke to his family.
