If we get JAC, Tamou, and Hetherington, we will be big movers in the comp next year those 3 will improve our roster massively

I'm with you but starting to get abit jack if the JAC saga. Just have a bad feeling about him and id rather move on from him rather than play second fiddle to souths or held to ransom by the storm, JAC aint the be all and end all for us. If we were able to sign both Tamou and Hetherington, that would put a big smile on my face and id be happy to keep our eyes open for other talent.

Tamou, Hetherington, Staines and Brandon Smith. Get it done.

Sure is, Hetherington has nothing to do with Ivan, he was there and playing well in the lower grades before Ivan even came along! I wanted us to sign him 2 years ago when Hook was still coaching them.

I don't think it would be bittersweet.....it would just be sweet....I think the kid would have the fire to stick it up Ivan if he was let go

I will be happy to do the round trip to pick up Hetherington from Penrith drop off at Concord than drive Garner to Manly. Even have fish and chips for dinner before driving home with a huge smile on my face. JAC better not turn out to be another Latrell case.

Garners biggest problem is effort on effort. He simply doesn’t dig deep enough and I’m sure thats what Madge doesn’t like. His work rate is low compared to the better edge players around. If he could somehow pull his finger out he could be something, but i think that’s a trait players either have or they don’t - and certainly they don’t develop it at the Tigers currently.

as fans, we tend to focus on the guys who run hard and tackle hard which is obviously a major part of it but you can't do that until you're actually in the position. That's something coaches like Robinson, Bellamy and Madge focus on when you listen to their pressers. It's about putting yourself in the position each and every play. The second, third and fourth effort. Again, look at Grant saving the kick back inside agains the Rabbitohs or setting up the try with a THIRD effort against Manly.

With the faster game, this becomes even more important.

I haven't seen much lower grade footy for quite some time, would those that have say that Kei is a better prospect than Talau?

When he came from Parra, good judges reckoned he was a better signing than Stefano.

The big Simpkins kid from the Cowboys seems to be the hot deal, Cows want to keep him but WT's are offering more. He's in NZ though so the talks are protracted but we're keen. He's big but he's green and still has a bit to learn. Burton from Penrith was almost a done deal until Bulldogs joined the race. Panthers are prepared to let him go as there was a lot of interest which they can't match once his contract is up next year. WT thought they had him but dogs and others started asking questions.

I think the Staines thing is going to go on for a while. He's the same price as JAC! Good luck to him. Burton has become hot property. We're in the race, but so are a few others all of a sudden. It was almost a done deal until two weeks ago. Let's hope Tamou has some influence.
