Matt Lodge a possible release at Brisbane as the fallout begins.

Good player. Too injury prone though

Why is it that Broncos can change their team in a blink, while WT are stuck with seeing out contracts? I f it’s a matter of player quality, how much WT are prepared to pay etc . Then our administration is or has been very poor. And another thing..when players audition for a gig at WT, do they do any physical stress testing? A speed test? Fitness test?

Naaah.
We wouldn’t do that. Now would we?
According to you we are just little mushrooms living in the forest. Sigh!

I would have thought, fair questions, given the position we are now in.

Tigers fans.....Our administration is very poor if it hasnt spent enough money to get player X.

Also Tigers fans.......Our administration is so bad because paid Player X $(insert amount of Contract).

Also Tigers fans ----Our administration is rubbish because they arent getting rid of contracted players like Brisbane do....just get rid of them, thats what good clubs do..

Also Tigers fans.....We are so bad, how come we are paying all these players to play at other clubs?!?!

I’m not a footy trivia master... however I can’t recall a single time in 30 years of watching Rugby League where a winger has changed clubs, changed positions To FULLBACK and also changed that clubs prospects

I would love to see a poll that asked
1. Do you support throwing the cheque book at Ado
2. Do you support gambling and think it’s a part of a healthy life

My hunch is there would be a huge correlation between the two answers

Yes to 1
No to 2

I can think of a person who: changed clubs ( Newtown ), changed positions, second row to wing, and significantly changed the prospects of a club ( Wests Magpies ).

He also changed rugby league. For good or bad is a matter of opinion. It was over 30 years ago, however, it shows that one player can change things.

Any guesses?

I do, loved him at Wests, hated him at Manly, despised him for his hand in super league

Will never forgive him for Super League. - As a player - as Hobbo would say, just a plodder.

Agree with the super league comment, low life bloke, but as a player he played 2 years and 36 games at Wests, scored 26 tries and transformed his career, he played for Queensland, NSW and Australia, he was no plodder

Certainly not a plodder hen he went to the wing. As for everything else - yep the guy is an out and out grub.

WT did release Thompson and Marsters who were under contract but are stuck with Packer and Reynolds whose current market value is less than half of their contract with WT.

Brisbane will have the same problem with Bird, Milford and Kahu.

Incoming Broncos coach Kevin Walters admits the size of the task at hand at Red Hill is bigger than he imagined as he prepares for some hard conversations with underperforming players over the coming weeks.
Anthony Milford, Matt Lodge and Jack Bird are among those Walters plans to hold meetings with this week to gauge their futures as he begins devising plans to overhaul Brisbane's roster.

It really depends if you have players that other clubs want.

So moving in Rusty Packer may be a very different proposition to moving on Matt Lodge.

Broncos haven't moved on anybody inside contract yet, so its far too early to say "why can Broncos do X" when they haven't managed it yet.

Broncos have players people want and wait for it willing to let go to other teams
we seem to want to offload rubbish and take 5 star, you don't get nothing for nothing

They won’t be able to just let them go they will have to sort out contracts the players will have to agree to it it’s no different to us saying we want to get rid of Reynolds and packer it’s not going to happen unless another club wants them and are happy to pay

SCHUSTER STILL EYEING MANLY EXIT
Josh Schuster and his management have been assured that prodigal son Kieran Foran will play hooker at Manly next season - but do they believe it?

Schuster, the next big thing at Brookvale, was thinking of asking for a release when Foran signed with the Sea Eagles.

The versatile youngster sees himself as a five-eighth rather than centre or lock.

But he knows that in all likelihood, Foran will play in the halves alongside Daly Cherry-Evans next season, dashing his hopes of wearing the No.6 jumper.

Manly coach Des Hasler has attempted to ease his fears by declaring that Foran will play hooker.

Schuster would be nice!

Melbourne would not accept Roberts , if JAC is playing us then we should withdraw our offer too easy , however everything we are hearing is just hearsay crap , too many peeps trying to turn an anthill into a mountain

Moylan is reportedly set to be given permission to talk to rival clubs about an early release for next season, though Mezzatesta declined to comment on those suggestions. The injury-plagued fullback, as well as Dugan, Johnson and Woods will be on the open market next month though, with any new Sharks deals unlikely to be sorted by November 1.

Next season will also be the first of Morris's tenure when he is operating with a full salary cap after wearing $353,000 penalties in each of his opening two campaigns as head coach.

However, the club won't be making any significant inroads in the player market until 2022.

None of them are too appealing. Woods is a solid player but not really what we need while the other three are too inconsistent and injury prone. Johnson the only one I would consider but he would have to be granted a release to join next season and not sure that would happen

Wouldn't let him through the gate at Concord
