I really think it is going to have to be building from within, targeting any players let go from other clubs and trying to get more out of the current players.

Agree and its really our only choice.. I do also congratulate the club for there recruitment of juniors over the last 12 months... Just a shame we cannot get that big name signing as it would be massive for marketing and recruitment.

I got told we are in with a chance from a friend who is involved in these things from time to time.
Madge rates him and he respects Madge. We will just have to see how the negotiations go, but we're not in it to lose.

Strange one as 13/12/11 look covered at Parra. He has openly said he wants to play back row and we (seemingly) would have been a much better fit.

I was hoping we would get him as he is better than Garner and also a better 13 than we have.

Tons of these second tier guys gone or going...you would like to think we have something up our sleeve.

Maybe Matterson wants out ?

Funny how Matterson isn’t been trained as hard this year , yet looked half the player he did in a tigers jersey.

Matterson good when he played in the 2nd row for Tigers but great when he played lock. In round 21 against the Bulldogs he ran for 273 metres and made 41 tackles.

It is a pity that the position that he thinks he should play and the position he is best suited for have never been the same.

His signing is strange. We know Maguire is about work ethic, commitment, fitness and dedication. Leilua is not the first name which comes to mind when thinking of players with these qualities. I expect the names Kei, Talau, Rizk and Kepaoa to feature early next year. For the sake of improvement, we need those names in the side. I've read the comments about Marshall stifling Leilua's attacking prowess but NRL is primarily about defence. Build your game on a strong defence. The best I can write is he is not a committed defender. Centre is such an important position defensively I really cannot find a centre position for him. Talau at right centre, Kei at left should be the combination going forward. If we don't use them, other clubs will come calling.

Doueihi is a chance but I think the plan is for Reynolds at 5/8ty. Still a long time till next season though.

Funny that Matterson wasn't included in the NSW SOO train on squad this season .. he did get selected .. whilst he was with the mighty Tigers .. !! ;-)

I hope that's not the plan. Can't see the point in playing Reynolds there for a year unless there is no other choice. IMO better to give Douehi some time to play the position - he seemed pretty good there the few games he played.
Would rather see AJ and Talua in the centres - they also seem to be players that will improve next year.

Totally agree with that .. however I do believe that we didnt use him enough last season. BJ is a line busting outside back that should be used as a strike weapon close to try line. It take 2 or 3 defenders to stop him and if the defence does put 2 or 3 defenders in on him, he will either break the line, .. or get held up by the 3 defenders, but then be able to give an off load to an unmarked winger .. !!

Think you are wrong Paws - Benji also caused big gaps in defence, even BJ and Nofo couldn't cover that up. Benji caused havoc out wide in attack and defence. At least that problem is gone and BJ maybe able to start the season not being behind the eight ball.

It is far too early for Rizk and Kei to be playing NRL so early in the season. Think your push for young blokes to be included is blinding you to the fact that it will crucify their careers to play them too early. They will then be lost for good.

I know you are not a fan of BJ but he is the best centre we have and he will prove it again in 2021.

Mbye is a good bench utility. Use him like Melbourne use Nicho Hynes, fill in wherever is needed

Thats not the problem with Mbye. Its the contract term and dollars. One of our worst signings in WT history when you also include the fact he doesn't really hold down any position of his own...
