Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just read on Fox Sports…could be a problem right there..especially if flip flop Pooper was the author ...

Dogs won't release Jackson or Klemmer. They can get under the cap by losing Woods and subsidising the release of Eastwood, Tolman and Graham. I know what I would do. They are in a similar position to what the Tigers were but most of their backended deals finish next year.
It's a basket case no one will sign there hence the Woods rumours.

Dogs already lost Kasiano, they will not let Woods, Graham and Tolman go. They would have about as much go forward as the tigers currently have.

can only subsidise payments if other clubs are willing to take those players, if no one wants them, then they will be forced to offer better quality players. that's there big problem, there's not a lot of quality within their current squad.

Similar to the process earlier this year where the tigers shopped around Kev, Lovett, Rankin etc to try and get under the cap before Simona solved the problem for them.

just read on Fox sports that Newcastle are looking at Graham and Klemmer from the Dogs, also read on the ever reliable Twitter world that they were also looking at making Jackson an offer.
Would love to know if the Tigers are at least looking at Klemmer and Jackson, they would certainly be the icing on the cake as far as a new forward pack goes. it also now appears that the Western Force will fold, so hopefully Rona becomes a Tiger, although it has been mentioned that the Eels are interested.
The club needs to act now, before other clubs take the best on offer from the over spending clubs.
Wouldn't it be good to see a headline next year referring to 'Bulldogs player Aaron woods caught having coffee with Tiger players Jackson, Klemmer and Reynolds….'.

Newcastle should leave graham be. The dogs are in trouble. If graham goes there goes a mill off there cap next year.

Rona will come here i think. We have more cash than the eels.

Boyle hasnt done anything honestly. Would of rather crighton or CHN.

Id takeJosh Jackson from the dogs but thats it.

Yeah they'd be mad to take Graham. Nearly finished injury wise. Make the dog's sweat it out and have to give up some of their established younger stars not their pensioners.
That would really destroy them

Watch some of these sides get a couple of injury retirements for players that are getting a bit past it, and move them into ambassador roles

If a person works for ANZ and gets an offer from Westpac for the exact same position, but for $20,000 a year more with absolutely everything being the same excluding the pay of course, would we expect that person to remain at ANZ out of 'loyalty' to ANZ?

Loyalty is a word that definitely needs to be removed from fans' vocabulary.

Eisenhuth staying with us would be great, but if he has a better offer and doesn't take it well frankly he'd be a moron.

Disagree. Do you think slater or smith would move to another club for money…they would die for melbourne. Its being loyal and passionate

Depends on the money on offer. Say Melbourne offer Smith $1m a year for 3 years and Brisbane offer Smith $1.5m a year for 3 years, what deal would he take?

I still think Smith would take the Melbourne deal. I can't imagine Smith or Slater ever leaving the Storm. It shows loyalty still is a thing within sports.

Loyalty is still extremely common within sports. It just depends on the person and how far something is being pushed.

I mean you only need so much money anyway.

I'd say he would sign both contracts and skip the country.

Forrest issues blunt warning to ARU
\

Billionaire mining magnate Andrew Forrest has issued a blunt warning to the ARU: if you want to cut the Force, you are going to have to defeat me first.

The findings from last week's arbitration hearing between RugbyWA and the ARU is set to be handed down within days.

If the Force win, they will survive the axe until at least 2020.

But if they lose, the ARU is set to cull them from the Super Rugby competition.

Under that scenario, the Force are almost certain to appeal to the Supreme Court if they win a right of appeal.

Forrest has pledged to do whatever it takes to save the Force, and he let the ARU know he means business.

"I want to be very clear to the ARU. You try to cut the Western Force, you have to go through me first, and then all of our players, and then our supporters, and then all of the parents of young players and, indeed, all proud Western Australians," Forrest said.

"This is bigger than just a rugby game. I stand behind all of these amazing people who believe in a fair go and the right for Australians to support rugby union as a national sport, not just one reduced to the eastern seaboard.

"The Western Force has heart. It is punching way above its weight.

"It is producing a crop of Wallabies. It is growing its junior player base. It has the backing of its community.

"How on earth can the ARU even consider causing harm to such a team and indeed to this rugby community?"

Forrest is offering people interest-free loans to put money into the 'Own the Force' campaign.

Instead of people paying the money back to Forrest, they pay it back to RugbyWA - effectively giving the Force $2000 for every share sold.

The Force will use the money to buy back their licence from the ARU.

If the Force win the arbitration, the ARU faces a tough task to cut the Melbourne Rebels.

The Victorian Rugby Union confirmed last weekend it had taken control of the struggling Rebels.

Andrew Cox's Imperium Sports Group sold the 11,625,000 shares for just $1.

The ARU were miffed the transfer went ahead without their knowledge, and they haven't ruled out challenging the change of ownership.

Former Wallaby and Western Force lock John Welborn believes the change of ownership now gives the ARU legal scope to axe the Rebels.

"Cox's decision to bail is confirmation to the ARU that the private ownership model has failed," Welborn said.

"It is the closing chapter in a disastrous experiment that has resulted in more than $30 million poured into a private franchise that has come dead last on the field and is struggling for commercial traction."

The REAL reason Robbie's unlikely to remain

The other day I wrote that Robbie Farah is unlikely to be at Souths next year - despite having a year to run on his contract.

And over the last few days, I found out the REAL reason why.

It seems - shock, horror - Souths players aren’t big fans of the controversial former Tigers hooker.

I’m hearing that senior players - especially playmakers Adam Reynolds and John Sutton - have complained to coach Michael Maguire about Farah’s style on the field.

They say he won’t listen to their calls for the ball and often goes it alone in the other direction, resulting in a breakdown in the team’s set moves.

It’s because of all this that the Rabbitohs are unlikely to stand in Farah’s way if he asks for a release at season’s end.

http://www.sportingnews.com/au/league/list/the-lurker-the-real-reason-robbie-may-leave-redfern-nrl-national-rugby-league-football-south-sydney-rabbitohs-robbie-farah-john-sutton-adam-reynolds/16ols8g7clgb31vd60h0wzehkb/slide/2

Souff's could pay us for a 1 year swansong…

I'm not sure if we want him back. He is a better hooker than what we have and he could probably do a good job in the halfback role but I feel this is just going backwards.

Don't worry about the EX Tiger Farah…....a leopard never changes its spots....

JT may have been right in what he was doing.....can someone let BBF know what his hero is thought of in Redfern?????
