2021 looking like finals season with all these signings ??

I wouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves - our potential spine is yet to play together and some of our backs are known for leaking a lot of points. Still a lot of question marks. I’ll make a judgement when the season is over.

I’d start to get excited to see Brooks play off some go forward. Tamou, Big Joe, Stefano and Curtis would get us rolling with LL picking his times.

I'm excited to see Madden challenge him. Luke Brooks and the word excitement the building two years sgo

Healthy competition will be good for him. No Benji too. I don’t care how good a halfback is he needs a strong pack to play consistently

Brooks hasn't fired last year because we were getting run over. Madge appears to be doing a cleanout and heck what do we have to loose.

That being said, I would like to move Brooks from half to 5/8. His strengths as a player do not align well with Halfback.Don't get me wrong, I back Brooks as a tiger, but change his number.

What a week it has been on the forum. From the McIntyre and Aloiai thread to here. We've gone from reaching for the razorblades to top 8 certainties in a matter of days.

Us Tigers fans sure are a fickle bunch.

I know right. I waa thinking exactly this. It’s gone from we won’t even have enough players to fill a team cos no one wants to play for us, to we are swimming in recruitment options 😂

The Joe deal hinges on Brisbane and how much off his contract they will cover. This one has developed very quick!

Asiata is lined up for the Broncos and they are fairly desperate to offload money. Kevie and Cartwright are smart operators and recognises the importance of getting the longer contracts off the book in order to re-sign Staggs, Coates and Nui.

Joe has agreed to the deal we have presented. Brisbane are paying a very large portion of Jack Birds contact (around 500k for 2021) and don't want to pay a big portion of Joe's.

Although, admittedly I do not know the full specifics of what was agreed, the deal will be subsided by Brisbane to some degree.

After Joe, there would likely only be one more and that would wrap it up for the 2021 squad (dependent on other player movements/departures).

Would one assume that we are happy enough with the portion the Broncos are prepared to pay seeing as though the Insta thing has happened today?

Really not sure, especially considering that happened today by all accounts?

Sorry, i don't really pay attention or put too much stock into what players do or do not do on social media. I only base things off what i personally know/hear.

Despite the negativity at times on the fourm, there is a lot to be positive of. Considering the challenges that the club faces and the difficulties the club sometimes faces with recruitment (considering we do not have the pull of the Roosters, Souths or Melbourne), I personally believe that we are doing a really good job overall with recruitment. Despite the criticism that the club gets in the media and from some fans, Madge and Hartigan especially have really shown class in rising above it all and persisting in improving this team in the best way they possibly can. Lesser operators would not be able step up and rise beyond the criticism the way they have.

It is not an easy job, the fact that they have taken it on head first, not taken an easy way out and shown their willingness to stick with it and sign on long term is admirable. Quite frankly, it's exactly what this club needs and is the kind of mindset that will deliver a stability that will eventually resonate with the high profile recruits.

The moves of the last week have been great. Last year I thought we were a bit reactionary but not now. Have added some key improvements to the lineup. Will be a good team to watch.

No JAC and we have now let McIntyre go. To date all we have bought is Tamou, Stefano and get back Momo. 2021 is shaping up to be a long season. With some of this season's weaker teams looking stonger on paper I think WT will finish near the bottom of the ladder. 14 spot is my prediction. My other prediction is Maguire's coaching position will be under pressure and fodder for the papers who dislike WT. Bring on the cricket please.

Who is then 9?

Everything is ok above except Tamou, Stefano and Momo don't have 9 on their backs.

IMHO if we are loosing Grant lets hire Brandon Smith. We need a fulltime 9 and a burst 9.

Little can't be relied on to make the year. I hope he does, but odds are he will get injured again.

Hodgson, who plays at fullback and centre, last month made his Super League debut for the Castleford Tigers, just over a week after turning 18 years old. He has also represented England in their youth national team.

Castleford said Newcastle paid them an undisclosed release fee. I assume that comes off their cap as well?

Tigers doing a great job.Laurie for 2022 is perfect as we will have approx 2.5 mill then and allows us spare cash for next year.Another big front rower and our forwards looking good,Another 1/2 and /or fullback would be nice,but with the extra speed in the backs and hoping the young guns coming up will perform all is looking good.

9 without doubt is Liddle - there is no reason he can't play 80 min. with the pre season behind him
will be just as fit as any other player in the NRL. An injury like his knee was an accident and can
happen to every player. With his build up in rehab and the pre season I am confident he will be just
as big a chance to finish the season as any other player in our squad.

He is a brilliant 9, great passing game that will help all our players, quick from DH and a very good
defender. He will have to work on his kicking game in the pre season (that is where Robbie comes
in - if at all) to make him the complete DH imo.
