At this stage yes, his management wanted it sorted by then to save the embarrassment of coming out in Tiger colours after whats been said, but club has made his manage to try & present an acceptable offer for release so pressure is all on him.

This is a great strategy. The manager will be motivated to come up with an offer so he receives his commission and his client$.

Yep he’s clearly not adverse to getting 1 of his players to replace another 1 of his players . Put it on him. If you want the 70k you’re going to get from JA per year , sort out the player swap. Or don’t and watch JA languish in reserves and manly pull thier offer . Because his value is not going to be half that if he spends the next year playing for wests magpies .

Hes the player we should have been pushing for from the Roosters over Kepaoa. Not sure we have space for him now, but would be a definite upgrade on our wingers.

Its well known that Bellamy is in his last year before retirement
The same year Madge finishes his current contract with us
Mage worked under Bellamy if I am correct
That both have a hard line approach and expect results
Both have a temper
Madge did very well managing Grant this year and knows his game
I heard Cameron Smith do an interview on Cairns radio this morning and he spoke how well Grant did at the Tigers this year
Is that an endorsement to try and get Madge to step into Bellamy's shoes
The timing is perfect for Melbourne and Madge
Harry preformed very well under Madge which would put Madge in a great position for the vacant coaching roll at Melbourne
Its not good for us at all if you think about it
I like what Madge has done for us and things look from the outside like we are planning for the future
I for one hope Madge stays and we lock him up soon
Real soon before the papers start writing stories linking Madge to Melbourne

I should add this is obviously purely speculation on my part but let's see if one of the drongos in the media try and run with it

AJ is good but Christian is very highly rated. Surprised they’re letting him go really he looked good on debut too. Hoping we signed him but I doubt it, we could use a winger for depth but it’s not our most important position to fill either

Tough initiation from Storm - dropped the high ball several times. Can forgive him for that being his debut so would like to see more of him in that regard but agree he generally looks the goods from highlights & stats.

Made some errors early but put it past him and grabbed himself a try. He’s a good build for a winger like AJ who I think will be good for us anyway

I reckon you could be onto something, I know Jason Ryles (mate of a mate) is held in high regard at Storm but he is going overseas to coach England’s rugby team.

All things point to Madge leaving us unfortunately.

I think Madge will stay, he's not going anywhere. He has an opportunity to build something here, and though he has massive salary cap restraints here with Packer and Reynolds, he is nearly free of them, only one more year.

I would definitely be disappointed if Madge leaves so soon. Who would we even consider as our next coach?
